  1. I really want to love the Borderlands series. I played the first one and put in about 3-4hrs in the 2nd one. I know everyone praises the loot system in this game, but it just doesnt fit my idea of a good loot game. To keep it brief, I dont want to play for 30 minutes and then have to spend the next 10 minutes sifting through the hundreds of items I picked up to find the 1-3 that are worth keeping. Thats not fun to me and its disengaging. The unending amount of chests riddled through the world hit the worst parts of my OCD in such a way that the game becomes tedious to play. Give me 1/2 the amount of chests, containing half the amount of loot...but make the loot meaningful and exciting to pick up. I cant wait for the day a shooter nails loot 100%.
  2. i picked up a gamepass 12 month sub for $45 on ebay just before i converted. im good until 6/9/21.
  3. 100%. I cant watch anything Japanese because of the over-the-top melodramatic shouting that is considered acting. Even their porn when grown-ass adult women are crying like little school girls is absurd. Totally kills my boner. Also - things like music. I love metal. Death/Black/Grind - Shit I cant even understand anyway most of the time. A lot of good shit comes out of Europe. If its not sung in english - Im out. I wont even pay attention to it.
  4. beta is out now. check out www.reddit.com/r/iosgaming lots of feedback and info on using the controllers with steam and moonlight
  5. I am not a nintendo fan at all, but The Secret of Mana collection is tempting as I never played the original. Its one of those OG JRPGs that are on my list. But really.... Breath of the Wild 2 is a game changer for me. If that releases on switch, then I may actually have to buy one.
  6. Witcher 3 still! Finished Hearts of Stone - It was pretty good. Really cool story. Now Im about 1/2 way done with Blood and Wine - and Im feeling like this might be the best content of the whole game (altough I really loved Skelliege) . Which is pretty amazing after 95hrs this game still feels so fresh with this content. All DLC should be this good. cant wait for iOS13 to drop with full xbox/ps4 controller support. Im going to stream Witcher 1 from my PC To my ATV!
  7. during the press conference last night, they said there is two blu-ray discs full on content. Not a mention of it being episodic. Is that speculation or confirmed? It would suck if its episodic. Combat looked great. I wouldve like to see more of the exploration or just walking around midgar in general. That would help me determine if this game is going to capture the same charm as the OG.
  8. Remember when ps3 launched at $600 and the community gasped in utter outrage and shock? The same thing would happen again. PC elitists seem to always forget console gamers don’t really give a fuck about the same things as you. They want to turn the system on and it works. If the games look good, great. I come from both camps and see the value in both. Bottom line- to try and steer this ship back on topic -at $15/mo for access to hundreds of games and first party titles on both my PC and console with cross-play and save - IN MY OPINION - is a great deal.
  9. i know.. which makes this argument all the more laughable when you quabble at $5/mo.
  10. sirius is in my car when i buy it. its a matter of them "unlocking it" when i decide to pay. the hardware is all there already. they arent adding anything new. same with naviation, remote start, the driver assist stuff, etc...
  11. I just preordered every new game with a release date thats been annouced (probably 15 games). Im taking advantage of the final days of my GCU membership. 20% off each physical game, day one. Many give me an extra $10 reward zone. I then use my BB CC for another 5% in points. I can play the game, trade it in, sell it or let a friend borrow it. I know this is ending and it makes me sad... but for years I have gotten every new release for $40 or less using this method. Then sold some of the games for $25-$30 on CL or ebay or worst case trade it in at gamestop.
  12. Or I can build a $1500 pc and laugh at console players for their $400 box about how their getting ripped off.
  13. Sirius is embedded in every new car. Yet I have to pay a monthly subscription for it. EDIT - navigation. Remote start. Etc. ever buy a new car?
  14. I’m going to start an online petition to have MS go from $400 a console to $700 console so they can make that money up front and give me online services (optional) for free. Im going to Redmond right now with my picket.
  15. I’m going to use this logic next time i go buy a car. Base model is $30k but since I already bought the car and most of the connections are already in place, I’m entitled to all the add-ons for free! I already bought it, right?
  16. Newsflash!!! Businesses are in business to make money! And you aren’t forced to buy any of it. Novel idea, I know.
  17. Apparently not bc we’re all braindead morons for understanding that. I guess the solution should be for MS to sell consoles at even or a loss so entitled gamers can get everything they want at price they feel is acceptable.
  18. Me too! I admit I don’t use it all that often, bc I buy mostly digital movies...but i do purchase the big snazzy blockbusters to watch on blu-Ray and it’s a noticeable difference.
  19. Also - with gold (not sure how ultimate or game pass works) but it allows for up 2 different profiles to use the same subscription. I have my sons Xbox set as my home Xbox and then my 1X auto signs into my profile. Anything I buy digitally and gold also goes on my sons Xbox. Ive never tried on my pc, but can you do this with steam or the other launchers?
  20. Well you either paid something at some point and upgraded or you pirated. Not really going to argue the pirated thing with you. My only counterargument to that is consoles don’t have to worry about hackers wrecking mp games.
  21. The same can be said about consoles on your first paragraph. You only need gold to play online. I’ve got a few RL friends who don’t pay for gold and only play SP games. As for your 2nd paragraph - the same can be said for consoles again. Sony and MS both have really good sales almost monthly (and even better with gold). Also - if you buy physical, you actually own the game, whereas that’s not the case on PC except for ancient games at this point. And let’s be real, steam sales are not what they used to be since they implemented returns. 3rd paragraph, I’ve explained already(and no one corrected me for being wrong) is that gold subsidizes the lower cost up front for a console. $400 for console x 6yrs of gold at $60 = $760. That’s where I’m getting $800 comparable for a PC. Last paragraph, pretty much everything else I said. Gold subsidizes the lower cost of a console. Without it, MS needs to capture that revenue elsewhere - it’ll be in raising the price of the console.
  22. And of course, game pass for PC. Sure you could buy gears 5 @ $60 for instance and that would be it. But the value proposition of $5/mo for gears 5 plus hundreds of other games make it a no brainer. And that’s exactly what they are banking on. The PC has been established and MS putting a paywall up to play their games online would be dead in the water. They know that. The game pass for PC is answer and it’s a smart one.
  23. Exactly my worry. Competitive shooters is another issue with Potential FPS differences. Also there are games right now that give a competitive advantage to lowering settings (looking at you BFV). It’s possible for it to go the other way where things like foliage and effects are reduced on old gen gear. This could give them a huge visibility advantage.
  24. right... and my argument is this (disclaimer, i may be remembering this incorrectly, but I dont think so): i remember reading that MS makes little to no profit on the sale of a console. instead, their money is made on gold subscriptions and software sales. Crispy thinks gold should be eliminated bc PC players can play for free. My argument is that youre spending half the cost of a comparable PC as an entry point to play games and then you are amortizing the additional 400+ over the life of the console by purchasing gold. If MS does away with gold, then I would expect console prices to go up to make up for the lost revenue. and before anyone makes an argument that you can build a cheaper PC than $800... true. you can also get gold for $35-$40 vs the normal price of $60.
