  1. Thats awesome. Ive been wondering how he got that name too. The Last Wish is actually the first book, right?
  2. anyone read the books? Im considering picking them up. I honestly didnt know this game was based on the books until recently. I thought the books were created from the game lore.
  3. I dont think thats correct. Everything I read shows HoS out first?
  4. TL;DW (42 seconds, lol): Ghost Recon Rainbod Six: Seige Division 2 For Honor Game Updates for Trial and Steep Celebrity Showdown ..."and you can expect 1 or 2 more things"
  5. Nice. Im excited to get into the DLC as Ive heard from a few friends its actually better than the main game.
  6. I have a weird relationship with The Witcher series. Bought and played 1 for about 2hrs, never went back. Bought 2 at launch played for about 5hrs, tried to go back 4 months later and had to restart. Got another 10hrs in and put it down. A year later I started again and it finally clicked at 15hrs where I couldnt put it down. The Witcher 3 was basically the same. Bought it at launch on PC. Played for 15hrs got sidetracked and never went back. Bought it on sale for xbox about a year ago, played for 10hrs and put it down. Early may, I picked up where I left off. since i had been through those missions now twice. I was a bit indifferent about the game until I made some fundamental changes to the way I was playing. Once I did that, it fully sunk its hooks in me and I couldnt put it down. I finished with about 73hrs on the game clock. I supposed that might seem rushed compared to other who have gotten 150+hrs out of the game, but I am fully satisfied. I did 19 of the 26 contracts and a ton of side missions. I didnt do a ton of the "?" that are littered throughout the map. In fact, I turned them off bc it was completely distracting and overwhelming to see. Sometime maybe too much content can be a bad thing. I knew there were a bunch of possibilities for the ending, but I think I got "the good one". At least Im happy with the outcome. I only restarted one critical decision when I accidentally clicked the wrong choice. I had figured fuck it and let it fly...played for 10 more minutes and said nah, I need to chose the answer I meant. In my ending Ciri Lives, She becomes a witcher. I sailed off into the sunset with that fiesty bitch Yennefer. Cerys is ruling Skellige and they are doing great and have chilled the fuck out. I took out Radavoid bc fuck those racist cunts..but it allowed the nilgaardians to basically take Novigrad, but it restored independence (to a degree) in Temeria, so all was right in the world. I had put up a long post in the "what are you playing thread" about my pros and cons and I would say much of that still stands even at the end. However there were some complete flip flops to the game play. For one, I had been frustrated with being level 7 and getting gear 10 levels ahead or more. Towards the end, when I wound up be completely over-leveled for the final missions (finished the game at level 35) all the gear I was finding was 5-10 levels lower. And it wound not mattering in the end bc the best gear in in the game are the Witcher sets. I wound up running the Bear set (mostly bc it looked the best) and upgraded it to superior all around and the mastercrafted steel sword. I ran a heavy attack/sign build/adrenaline gain build. I used the dismemberment monster trophy. Towards the end, I could 2 shot most enemies with my heavy attack. Felt good. I had also mentioned that I thought the leveling was too slow and made progress feel slow. After skillege when you go back to Kaher Morhen, I was like level 24-25. All of sudden they were basically handing out levels <<insert oprah meme>>. One mission I jumped 2 full levels. Every mission thereafter was basically 1000 points. It was just a weird an jarring change in the mechanics, but I didnt mind. It allowed me to upgrade all my gear which was awesome because it changed the look every time and got consistently more badass. Other than that, I really loved Skellige. Reminded me of Skyrim and it was definitely the best looking area of the game. Them fucking harpies tho. Im going to jump into the DLC this weekend..hopefully tackle Hearts of Stone as I hear its not terribly long, but very good. Overall though, this really makes me excited for Cyberpunk (and it would be awesome if CDPR remastered Witcher 1 and released it on the consoles). Question: Is there any must see/do side missions, contracts or "?" that really stand out that I should go do before starting the DLC?
  7. they are slowly removing the handprints (or adding them however you want to look at it) to reveal more of the gameplay. pretty slick.
  8. Why do they have to lump BF1 in with these games? It’s actually a great game that I still play to this day.
  9. First- kids are a nonissue in this. Ive got an 8 and 10yr old. Their ipads and xboxes are locked down hard. They cant download/purchase/install anything without my consent. If they save up some money and want to buy the fortnite season pass or some roblox coins, I allow it. If they have $20 I will not allow them to spend all of it on digital items. Bad parenting should not be our burden to regulate. I learned this early with my daughter. 5-6 years ago I downloaded some seemingly innocent child barber shop app on her ipad. A few weeks later, I got a bill for $200 from apple. Luckily they were very understanding, forgiving and refunded me the money and helped me set the family sharing/parental locks on her ipad. Lesson learned. If this is a continual thing with parents getting large bills, they arent paying attention to their kids and/or have enough disposable income where they dont care or it doesnt matter. Either way, there are tools in place to help them combat this. they just need to take advantage of it. A good solution should be to put the onus on the publishers/developers to regulate the spending. They want to offer loot boxes, make it so they need to monitor activity for accounts that have consistent, exorbitant amounts of spending. Contact the CC companies and let them know your product flagged suspicious activity. Temporary bans from purchasing. Putting caps on daily/weekly/monthly purchases (as i mentioned). All these regulations would be perfectly acceptable in my book.
  10. same. I was really hoping for a holiday 19 release, but that seems unlikely at this point. The hype however, with what little we have seen, is through the roof.
  11. I understand this and agree with it to a point...but making sweeping decisions for the entirety of the community based on a minority of individuals with a gambling addiction is not the answer either. Esp when these companies will just come up with another way to monetize their products. Like I mentioned earlier, they can very easily start to increase the base price of games to compensate. This negatively affects the entire community. I know this is a slippery slope, but its well within the realm of possibility. Im also against things like this simply because I dont want the gov to tell me what I can and cant do with my own free time and money. There needs to be a middle ground. Maybe put a daily/weekly/monthly cap on how much is allowed to be spent. I dunno, but a blanket ban is a bad move.
  12. this one is definitely on my radar. may be i will grab it when im done with Witcher 3
  13. That was weird, but i cam to the same conclusion. He was essentially touring the city seeing the devastation. Then decided to head to Dani. Greyworm killed those soldiers then went right back. Only way it makes sense. Well I cant argue that. That is a definite win.
  14. I thoroughly enjoyed this season. I didnt feel like it was rushed at all. In fact, i prefer this pacing to the last 7 seasons. There were bouts of pure boredom in almost every season. When you add up the run times of S8 episode, i think it comes out to almost 8 full episodes. I dont think 2 more hours wouldve wrapped every single story arc in a way that wouldve been satisfying. The ending was fine, although it was maybe too happy based on what we expect GoT should deliver. Jon killing Dani was predictable but necessary. Bran taking the throne never occurred to me as option but it makes sense. Him being 'their past and their future' means he knew all along the outcome, which is why he basically sits back and spectates through the whole thing, and it makes sense. Jon's ending wasnt happy, at least not immediately. He kills dani even though he really doesnt want to. he still doesnt get the throne even though he seems to have a realization that he should lead...but in the end, watching him go north of the wall makes sense. in the 8 seasons that is actually where he was happiest. he never quite achieves victory though, no matter how you look at it. jon is basically blue balls. It was obvious Arya wasnt sticking around no matter the outcome. there was no place for her there. I really hope one of these spinoffs is arya's adventures in the west. Sansa gets whats she wants all along. Independence and to rule...an having her brother rule the other 6 kingdoms certainty doenst hurt. House Stark rises again!
  15. https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/fp/473188 also, 16TB for $170 https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/fp/473197 4TB for $55 https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/fp/473194
  16. I think most of us have moved on and are just interested in hearing about the new content. But you aren’t wrong. For all the good things TD2 has, the gameplay is repetitive and boring. It’s why at the end of the day I put almost the same amount of time as anthem.
  17. No adapters. I’m using my Xbox, which is in my tv console. I would say 30’ makes sense. My PC is in my office in the basement. No controller will reach. I have to use either the steam controller or the nimbus. Hopefully Apple adds support for PS4 and/or Xbox controllers.
  18. Regardless of sales, it would be stupid for them to not acknowledge an obvious issue with the console version. Saying they shouldn’t worry about it bc sales on PC beat their projections is silly. Even if there are more PC players, console players still make a significant chunk of the playerbase. If this raid is impossible to beat on console, then the playerbase is going to die fast as there is no reason to continue. I’m sure massive/ubi do not want that.
  19. Thanks. Although I never said the mx500 was a bad drive, I understood that to be a good drive, I just haven’t seen it on sale cheaper than around $105-$110from a reputable seller, at least not while I’ve been watching. Also, i wouldn't dismiss everyone on slickdeals as being ignorant. There are definitely lots of knowledgeable people on there. I learned a ton about a/v equipment and TVs there. When I had deeper questions I moved to avsforum and the home theatre subreddit. Again, I never mentioned brand names, but I do remember inland (as you mentioned) being one to stay away from, certain intel drives, xfg for warranty issues, and the lower model sandatas. As for the enclosures, I was going off ones that seemed to come up consistently as recommendations... there were in the ~$15 range for sata and ~$20 range for m.2. Oddly enough, the adata drive you mentioned was posted to slickdeals for 85 bux just 2 hrs ago. Weird i didn’t get an notice for it since i had “1tb SSD” setup as a deal alert. So i picked it up and the enclosure you mentioned. Total was 100 even w/tax. That’s a significant enough savings for me to return the other one (which was 148, Not sure where you got 170 from).
  20. If you are inclined, go to slickdeals and search 1TB SSD and just read the threads. There are some very informative people that explain why a particular drive is so cheap (sub-optimal chipset, dramless, poor warranty). Seems there’s quite a few cheap drives to be careful of, even from reputable brands. This particular drive and company seems to be well-reviewed. Between my OP and today, I’ve read up and you’re right, this drive is absolute overkill for X1X. But I’m future-proofed for a while and could always convert to an internal drive for a new pc. When I did the math, even with an mx500 at $105 and a good enclosure at $20...for the $25 bux extra this cost me, it seemed like a worthwhile investment.
  21. not brand specifically - but from the brief research i did - there are certain chipsets that have a high failure rate (dont remember which, just know this one supposedly has a great chipset). also the enclosure is backwards compatible with usb 3.0
