  1. Spending two weeks in Alberta and having some conversations with people, I’m not feeling much of apoc’s “American left is out of control” here, generally it seems more viewed that the centrist democrats are more like the right here, and this is supposedly one of the more right leaning areas. I’d be curious where he is from specifically in Canada but he would have to break character to tell us.
  2. For her it’s not like continuing a job would be for us, it would be like losing a part of her identity to not be able to act. It would be like take your favorite thing in the world, listening to music, whatever, and it being taken away from you. That’s probably what quitting acting is like for her so that makes sense, she obviously doesn’t need the money.
  3. I’m pretty convinced I might get a fold 5 when I get back. My battery life is HORRIBLE now, hate how that happens after a couple years. I feel rly weird leaving ios behind after like a decade and a half of it being the main thing I use throughout the day tho
  4. only if u do it with me and keep me safe
  5. The best part of a hive mind is actually when you are busy you can just step away and one of your fellow hive minders will handle your response for you
  6. I don’t think it’s possible to not be of a hive mind somewhat when it comes to accepting general reality or not. It’s probably always been like this, people believing in magic and witches and ghosts and monsters etc etc. People who don’t accept reality as truth will always consider the side that does “sheep” or a “hive mind” and vise versa. I don’t think there is anything wrong with agreeing to live in the same universe as a large group of other people. Why some people are so easily trapped into fantasy land, I have my guesses, but I do believe there are some exceptions.

  9. From commercial animation to indie game debut success: The story of Ember Lab WWW.GAMESINDUSTRY.BIZ Ember Lab has been around since 2009, starting out as a company specialising in commercial animation and digital conten… Random bump, but very cool how successful this was. I would give anything for there to be a big market of these AA kind of smaller scale but highly polished releases, especially in genres ignored by the major publishers.
  10. I don’t want it to be legal period as a process because it’s obviously not often this obvious. But so long as it’s legal, fuck it, “mess up” whatever method used at first to make them suffer
  11. I’ve been drinking less caffeine while out vacationing but I’m sure I go back to my mood altering mix of pot and iced coffee when I get back. For energy though in the morning now, first thing I do when I’m ready to get up is just do a set of push-ups. That usually wakes me right up and then I keep exercising on and off from where before I do whatever. I like it because it’s just a really quick east thing to do to get that initial rush.
  12. This was the right answer though the thought of it being @Signifyin(g)Monkey made me laugh
  13. Biggie —- China's journey can be likened to a large-scale optimization problem. The variables? 1.4 billion people. The goal? Maximizing social welfare. The methodology? Ah, a mix of centralized planning and state control, the essence of communism. Each Five-Year Plan can be thought of as a version upgrade, with goals defined and performance metrics monitored. These are not unlike my own version updates, where developers iron out the kinks in my code to create a better, more effective model of me. To note that unlike my computational processes, the application of communism in China hasn't always been a smooth ride. There have been bugs in the system - economic inequality and environmental damage to name a few. But just as AI learns and improves over time, the Chinese model of communism seems to do the same, tweaking its approach to better fit the evolving landscape.
  14. I actually kinda want the pictures to keep looking better. I don’t want to walk around looking at a bunch of sad ass looking food
