  1. Nope, but if I ever hit the lottery I'd buy me a '57 Chevy Bel Air.
  2. Usually when I say I'm punching out I don't come back into the thread, but I'm tired and down for one last attempt at clarifying my point. Plus, I know you're not a bad dude who's just trying to draw me in to an argument. :P The reason the NRA is opposing the renewal in its current form when they did not oppose it on any previous re-authorization is that the writing of the new Red Flag provisions allows for the confiscation of guns (i.e. the removal of rights) from a person on accusation, or signs of potential bad future behavior. Not arrest, not conviction, not even issuance of a protective order. It circumvents any due process or evidentiary standard. It's not about allowing "convicted criminals" or those that have committed abuse to keep their guns. We (ideally) don't jail citizens or strip rights without due process or conviction. This addendum to VAWA codifies an exception to that rule. That is their sticking point. Now whether you agree whether the new addition is good or not is a whole other debate. The only point I was trying to make was that, as distasteful as I find the NRA's lobbying arm to be at times, painting their opposition here as "The NRA wants criminals to keep their guns!" is an unfair characterization.
  3. Rising Sun is on my wishlist. I'll likely pick it up at GenCon this year; should be able to find a deal on it. I'll look into Mystics!
  4. This thread reminds me I still need to buy 10 round magazines for my M&P .40...I haven't shot it since NJ made me get rid of my 15's.
  5. WWE response: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/wwe-hits-back-john-olivers-last-week-tonight-wrestling-takedown-1198510 "John Oliver is clearly a clever and humorous entertainer, however, the subject matter covered in his WWE segment is no laughing matter," the organization said in the statement to The Hollywood Reporter. "Prior to airing, WWE responded to his producers refuting every point in his one-sided presentation. John Oliver simply ignored the facts. The health and wellness of our performers is the single most important aspect of our business, and we have a comprehensive, longstanding Talent Wellness program. We invite John Oliver to attend WrestleMania this Sunday to learn more about our company."
  6. "the network" meaning I can't just watch 'em on TV?
  7. I stopped watching way back when the story was the first time that they "split the roster" and had a "draft" between the two main shows. That's when I was like...alright I'm out. I'm willing to check it out though. Which show has most of the lucha guys on it?
  8. My son went and saw this over the weekend. He said it was more funny than scary, but also that he appreciated they didn't try to hit you with jump scares like most horror films nowadays.
  9. Watched it this morning. Well done episode. As a lapsed wrestling fan, this actually kinda makes me want to watch again.
  10. I'm not sure what you mean by hills and dying. Their opposition isn't about allowing convicted or committed abusers to have guns. It just isn't. They're shitty, but we don't have to make up reasons that they're shitty. I'm punching out.
  11. "Their opposition to the bill is the clause allowing law enforcement to confiscate the guns of criminals" - Still not true. I think we have a fundamental misunderstanding here. I'll step out.
  12. The implication is that the NRA is against VAWA when they're only against the provision that is being added to it with this re-authorization. They've never been against it with any other re-authorization or enactment. To say they want to allow "convicted stalkers and abusers" to have guns is incorrect. The NRA-ILA is bad, but we need to at least be honest about what they're bad about.
  13. They are pretty bad. But there's no need to spin things to make them seem even worse; they do well enough on their own. The implication of the article and Spk. Pelosi's tweet aren't exactly fair-minded.
  14. The argument comes on one's definition of "high capacity". Personally I consider 10-15 round magazines to be standard capacity.
  15. NJ dropped us to 10 a couple years ago. They'd go lower if they thought they could get away with it.
  16. Almost never. Only when there's some sort of issue I'm troubleshooting and think it will help.
  17. Cars pre-limitation era will see a nice bump in used resale value.
  18. It's pretty fun just walking around D.C. The devs' attention to detail is pretty impressive and it isn't just the big buildings and monuments. I keep seeing apartments and townhouses that I know. It feels pretty great, like I'm home for a visit.
