  1. The one that got me most excited was No Rest For The Wicked. The art direction on that was right up my alley. I'm also kind of excited for the Jurassic Park Survival game, but I have to admit the whole "i was left on the island" angle kinda bugged me, especially since they're showing that it took place immediately after the first movie. Like, where was she while the entire movie was happening? Did she sleep through that shit? Was she left behind by the final boat during the storm, or the helicopter that rescued Grant, Ellie, etc.? Because technically that would mean she got left twice. Don't count on this chick to be on time for literally anything.
  2. I'm so torn on whether I want to watch, or just wait till it's over and get the cliff notes. I don't give two shits about the awards.
  3. Yeah it took us probably about 15 tries. Most of that was trial and error though trying to memorize the cube movement pattern. We divided the sides and he took the right while I took the left. Once we were able to get a feel for the patterns on our cubes we were able to get through it.
  4. I literally bought this on sale three days before it shadow dropped on Game Pass. That said, I've been playing co-op with a buddy and it's been a pretty good time. That Cube boss in the labyrinth can fuck right off tho.
  5. Took a look at it, saw the grid, moved on. Those kinds of games are just not for me.
  6. I didn't realize until now that not all Steam games support cloud saves. Is there a way to manually transfer saves to the Deck?
  7. Of course it's bad. But it's also good. That's the whole point of euro-jank.
  8. Eh, $20 and I'm there. That's what I bought the first two for. $30 falls outside of impulse purchase territory. Now it's firmly in the "wait for sale" category.
  9. 2K Drive is one of those games that I wanted to try, but the premium price point and grindy F2P mechanics made it a hard pass. Will try it for free though.
  10. Well, there's that tiny game called Final Fantasy 14. Aside from that Elder Scrolls Online is still doing quite well. And I guess WoW is still kicking. Other than that though the focus has pretty much shifted to service games.
  11. Ok so I loaded up a few of my Steam games to try out. Keep in mind a few of these are pretty old so they were never intended for mobile play. Hunted: The Demon's Forge - ran perfectly. The game already had gamepad support, but I played this game for about an hour and a half and zero problems. Which is nice because it's not technically "verified" by Steam. Risen - Only played this one for a few minutes. The controls seem to work fine; I didn't do much combat, but this one also had a gamepad mode, so it worked. The only problem is the text is tiny, and this is a conversation-heavy game. Might have to play this one on the desktop. Yakuza 0 - I think this one was already verfied, but yeah it ran great. It looked amazing on the OLED as well, since the city is literally nothing but glowing signs and neon lights. Warhammer 40k Space Marine - This one looked and ran amazing, despite not being verified. Controlled really well. Dark Messiah of Might and Magic - It "worked" but it was designed for mouse and keyboard, so even with the control re-mapping, it was wonky. It took a lot of tweaking on the controls to get it to feel "good" but I'm not sure it's worth the trouble. Probably better off just playing this one on the PC. F.E.A.R. 3 - Ran perfectly, FPS controls felt good, even though they were technically re-mapped mouse and keyboard. (This game should have been recent enough for gamepad support?) I am kind of bummed that GOG games are hit and miss. I was watching tutorials last night on getting them running on the Deck, and it really didn't seem worth the effort. Which is a shame because I have about 100 GOG games, including ones that work great with gamepad controls. I have the entire Ys series on GOG, as well as games like Wolfenstein, the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series, Prince of Persia trilogy, Deus Ex, etc. GOG has having a string of great sales for a while, and I amassed quite the collection. Sucks I don't really get to enjoy them here. I guess technically a ROG Ally would have been better for that, huh, since it's basically just a handheld Windows PC...
  12. why buy Tears of the Kingdom for $50 when I can get Breath of the Wild, a much older game, also for $50?
  13. I really can't help but wonder if Nintendo literally restricts retailers from putting their first-party games on sale. Even when they do, they're just as shitty as Nintendo's eshop.
  14. My wife and I lived in a small apartment for a few years. She sat and watched TV while I chilled at my computer desk in the same room playing my video games on the monitor. Luckily we were eventually able to upgrade to larger living spaces but it was never an issue.
  15. I'll never understand the "when my wife/kids want to use the tv, I can game on this" argument. What household has a PS5 and only one tv? If you can afford a Portal, you can afford a second TV. I bought a 40" 4K Samsung for like, $179. It's not the greatest tv ever, but it's mine, and the wife can watch the big tv all she wants and it doesn't interfere with my plans in the slightest.
  16. Mine should be arriving by tomorrow night. I couldn't resist the Autumn Sale temptation, so I guess it will be my Yakuza machine for the forseeable future, since I bought the first seven games for like, $50. Correction: First eight games. I keep forgetting I added Like A Dragon to the pile.
