The Epstein thing is a fascinating case of people absolutely missing the point. The lesson we should be taking away from this isn’t that there’s some super secret pedo cabal out there, but instead that the rich have laughably easy access to those in power.

The sentence has less to do with the crime itself which goes beyond simple leaks because he did try to extort them, but because of him being tried in relation to his mental condition. If you’ve got a guy who is, in open court, proudly claiming they not only will go back to crime but wants to do it as soon as possible, then what other choice do you have? A regular prison stint won’t help this kid at all, he needs professional medical help until he’s deemed to not be a danger.
