  1. You say that as if it was a boomer Republican that worked to repeal Florida laws specifically created to prevent stuff like this from happening. Oh, wait... Repealed Florida law would have required faster repairs at collapsed tower, experts say WWW.NBCNEWS.COM If a 2008 Florida law that required condos to plan for repairs had still been in place, "this never would have happened," said the legislator who sponsored the law.
  2. No shit, but you'd also be amazed by the number of people that think the Impossible Whopper is somehow a healthy alternative to a regular beef Whopper.
  3. How much money has Congress doled out to cover sexual harassment claims? Oh right, we don't really know.
  4. I'm in. I love the art in this one. Miranda did a great job with the songs he wrote for Moana. It instantly became my favorite Disney soundtrack, so here's to some high hopes.
  5. Yes, OLED screens are more expensive to produce than the backlit IPS LCD in the launch Switch and Lite.
  6. If anyone was wondering how this was going... Pentagon kills Microsoft’s $10B JEDI cloud contract, says tech is now outdated ARSTECHNICA.COM Amazon's legal stall tactics seem to have paid off. Looks like the Pentagon is going to rescope the entire project.
  7. @Bacon How about $35 for FE 3H? Fire Emblem: Three Houses | Nintendo Switch | GameStop WWW.GAMESTOP.COM Buy Fire Emblem: Three Houses by Nintendo for Nintendo Switch at GameStop. Find release dates, customer reviews, previews, and more. Must-play Nintendo Switch games are almost half off WWW.THEVERGE.COM Stock up on great games.
  8. Unlikely. From Nintendo's perspective, the Lite exists as a cheaper alternative for kids. Nintendo is sometimes really weird about their handheld updates. The DSi, especially. It was a generational upgrade over the DS, but Nintendo didn't treat it as such, nor did they announce it as such. It's entirely possible this is just a 3DS XL-style update. It's also possible that when this thing gets in people's hands they'll find out it's on a new fab with better thermals and throttles less leading to better frame rates; none of which Nintendo will actually announce. I'll probably pick one up around launch, but it also wouldn't be a bad idea to see what Digital Foundry thinks of it once they've run their tests.
  9. This is either a mid-generation update like the DS Lite or a quasi upgrade like the DSi. I wouldn't hold out for another upgrade popping up for at least another two years.
  10. Happens everywhere I go. Just why even bother cooking it outside at that point? I'll allow it. Lobster is perfectly fine boiled. You aren't losing that much through the shell. If it's in a sous vide I'm assuming this is frozen lobster tail or something like that, in which case, yeah, go for it.
  11. You could totally boil a burger. Just remember the whole diffusion thing, so whatever you boil the burger in needs to be more flavorful than the burger patty, itself.
  12. If you're making soup from scratch, you'd do better to cook the meat separate from the soup. The soup broth, instead, should be flavored with veggies, off cuts and bones. Once that's done, add the meat and let them simmer for a bit, but never hot enough to boil. Even the stuff in cans tells you to never actually boil the soup. Soups can totally "burn". Cooking it too hot will mess with the taste and texture.
  13. They aren't terrible, but they aren't good either. Diffusion is a thing to think about when cooking. The reason hotdog water exists is because when you boil the dogs some of the flavor leaves them and remains in the water. I'd prefer to keep as much flavor in the food as possible rather than throwing some down the drain. This is one of those things people don't think about when they get into sous vide. They think adding all this butter and wine to the steak will end up with a steak with those flavors, but instead you just send up with butter that tastes like steak and wine.
  14. It doesn't seem that way to the people that are only planning to keep their property for a decade or so and then sell it for a profit. It's like a deadly game of hot potato.
  15. This will be cool. Looks like they managed to grab some great talent to help out. It would be nice to see one of these studios tackle a full length series.
  16. Air fryers are great. I have one of those Ninja pressure cooker/air fryers and I use it all the time. Try parboiling some sliced up potatoes and then air frying them. So good One thing that people seem to skip is that you should really brush down whatever you're cooking with oil. Without any oil, these air fryers are just mini convection ovens.
  17. You can almost always find a free CRT or two on like Craigslist. The best filter I've found on RetroArch is CRT Royale. It's not perfect, but it's a hell of a lot closer than most other filters.
  18. Does sous vide count as boiling? Because I boil my streaks all the time if so. I mean, I sear them afterward, but that's mostly to do away with the poor texture and sad look.
  19. It bugs me that a guy that's been working in this industry for so long and has been completely unable to improve his artwork in any appreciable way. For most people, just drawing a little everyday is enough to increase the quality of their work. How has decades of practice not helped this man at all? It's belligerent arrogance.
  20. I grill burgers outside all the time, I just drop a skillet on the grill.
