  1. This is correct. This also wouldn't affect recommendeds. The dislikes are still there, just not visible when you've clicked on videos. Creators will still be able to view their dislikes as well. I don't get how this would affect anyone other than people that feel good seeing the ratio.
  2. It was a bunch of COVID conspiracy stuff, but I think one of those conspiracy videos she shared had some anti-trans stuff in it. She took that one down, so it seems her stupidity here is very much in the COVIDiot camp.
  3. I think @stepee is probably right in that what your see might be whatever you're monitor can push...maybe? My PC monitor is mostly for work, so it's a big 32" 4k 60hz display. Got to see all those spreadsheets and chat windows all at once. Either way, you shouldn't see any stutters with that setup. The game is pretty good with loading times too. My PC is on Windows 11 and has a 3900x, 2080TI, 32GB 4400Mhz, and a 2TB 980 Pro. We're not that far off from each other and you should certainly be running this game better than me. I think I've had one crash in the middle of a loading screen, but other than that it's been rock solid on full screen.
  4. The entire quote is crazy... What the fuck does "allow things to be viewed through three-dimensions and logarithms" even mean, especially in the context of video taken from a security camera?
  5. He's not going to jail. Judge buys Rittenhouse lawyer’s inane argument that Apple’s pinch-to-zoom manipulates footage WWW.THEVERGE.COM That’s not how it works.
  6. I'm going to call SA and everything around it a net negative. I get that it was hugely influential, but that doesn't make any of it good for humanity.
  7. The one thing this game does that other Metroidvanias don't do as well, even other Metroid games, is keep you moving forward. I find that the biggest challenge newcomers to the genre face is that feeling of being lost and not really sure where to go next. It's there for Super Metroid and even for newer, really great Metroidvanias like Hollow Knight. Metroid Dread does a really good job of guiding you forward while also not feeling like it's leading you along. This is the game's biggest weakness for those that really like to explore and get lost in a Metroidvania. If that's a part of the genre that never really clicked for you, then you're in luck. There's still a lot of exploration to do, but the game world doesn't really fully open up until later into the game.
  8. I mean, yeah, you're killing polar bears to save money on some AWS compute, but that wasn't the point of my little thought exercise. The only people that could conceivably benefit are small devs that have a game with tradables. However, the size the game would need to be to facilitate such an open market should also be profitable enough to just buy some time on Azure.
  9. That's exactly it. Here my legitimate blockchain game idea. You're a smaller dev that doesn't want to spend money on infrastructure for, say, your pvp card based RPG. You sell new NFT cards on Amazon, matchmaking happens on Discord, matches are all direct p2p connections with decks being made up of NFT. There you go. Legitimate use for the blockchain in gaming. Also, none of that is something the likes of EA or Ubisoft needs to worry about about because they have a the resources in the world to run those servers on the backend.
  10. Black Texas High School Principal Allegedly Indoctrinated Students WWW.INSIDER.COM "I'm hopeful that we can use this to move forward and to progress and get some true meaningful change," James Whitfield told NBC News. First, fuck that headline. Second, I love the "we aren't forcing this principal to resign for racist reasons, he was just really bad at his job" coupled with "as part of our settlement, he'll be receiving his full salary from now until the beginning of the 2023 school year".
  11. The downvote doesn't serve any real purpose other than harassing creators these days. Get a ton of dislikes and you're going to start trending because of "engagement". Also, YouTube doesn't work like a music service. Downvoting a video won't stop you from seeing more videos from that creator. The only way to do that is to block the entire channel from your feed.
  12. You can? Well, fuck me then. I was looking at the settings and I saw a setting for 30 and 60fps locks. I didn't see the option to just disable it. Then again, this was me trying out the game for a few races last night after the kids went to bed. I was tired. It was literally the only reason I let the benchmark tool choose graphical options for me.
  13. Really? What does the rest of your rig look like? Wondering because I'm running on the ultra preset at 4k with no scaling on Windows 11 with a 3900x/2080TI and I'm getting well over 60fps...not that it matters because the game is locked at 60fps. I just reran the benchmark and, yeah, 73fps average on the GPU.
  14. Even then, at least the soldiers were sort of a challenge. The cores weren't ever. They may as well all been already destroyed and sitting in a puddle of goo like the first one.
  15. I REALLY wanted those core battles to get harder everytime. I mean, they did get harder, but not in any way that makes a difference. All the rings and missiles flew about as fast as they did in Metroid, only you had a huge room to jump around and are a thousand times faster than you ever were on the NES.
  16. One Piece should legitimately be impossible. I don't understand how is supposed to work. The powers make no sense. The world makes no sense. Even the way they get around makes little too no sense. One Piece is what if shounen was a horny fever dream and I took lots of drugs. What's crazier is that Oda is actually working with Netflix here. Oda isn't exactly sane, so I gave no idea what to expect. Yu Yu Hakusho is something else entirely. That series is totally doable as a live action series. A lot of it will look silly, but that's a given for most of these anime adaptations.
  17. Even if this winds up being terrible, never claim Netflix isn't good at casting these. On a wildly unrelated, Netflix is also working on a live action Yu Yu Hakusho.
  18. Obama only nominated him because of that very reason. He chose someone he figured the GOP would confirm. He was naive.
  19. You said he was likely a Republican. Liberals and progressives don't work for or with the Federalist Society. About Us FEDSOC.ORG Most of Trump's judicial nominees were Federalist Society picks.
  20. That would certainly help explain why folks thought it was cool to dance on ambulances that were trying to evacuate people.
  21. "Open with" is still there. If there's more than one registered application for that file type you'll get the "open with" option on the right-click menu. If there isn't, it'll be hidden and you need to go right-click > show more options. Show more options brings up the old Windows 10-style right click menu which includes the "open with" item. I found this pretty quickly when I realized that you don't get the 7-Zip explorer integrations in the main Windows 11 right-click menu.
  22. I actually like it as well. It runs pretty great on everything I've put it on, supported and unsupported. For unsupported, it's running on my Ryzen Pro file server. As far as supported systems go, I've got it running on a couple of i7 laptops, an SQ1 Surface Pro X, and my main gaming rig with a 3900x. It's running pretty smooth on everything with no issues to complain about so far. I haven't even seen any performance hitches on the 3900x, but I did wait for those to be patched out before upgrading. I have no complaints and a real appreciation for auto-HDR and everything just feeling more unified than it did in Windows 10.
  23. I won't be around to catch this live since this weekend is Kids Con New England. I still maintain they had one of the best shows around E3, so I'm looking forward to what they have to show off this weekend. Their E3 presentation had a ton of games I actually ended up playing and enjoying.
