  1. IMO, VR is likely going to be a fad for gaming with the exception of stuff where you're inside a vehicle (or stationary, if not). Racing sims or flight sims (or combat equivalent) are amazing in VR. But if you have to walk and aim in different directions, VR controls aren't nearly as good as regular gaming.
  2. Also it's funny to see people think that once McCarthy is elected Speaker on the 12th round that things will magically just go smoothly for the GOP. You think they are going to have a stable majority and work together? lol. If you enjoyed the UK Conservative mess of the last two years, prepare for the same in the US House!
  3. Yeah, there's a 95% chance this ends with McCarthy as Speaker. Sounds like the biggest Super PACs are already putting pressure on the holdouts tonight. Democrats would be dumb to make a deal with McCarthy, because he will break it the second he is actually speaker.
  4. Yeah...I've been comparing videos and images where Nvidia fanboys claim that DLSS "destroys" FLS, in terms of image quality improvement...and I honestly can barely tell the difference unless I look closely.
  5. Chaos is finally over BREAKING: Republicans Have Elected Mohg, Lord of Blood as Speaker of the House HARD-DRIVE.NET The Republican Party has united around a consensus candidate for Speaker: the Omen demigod Mohg, Lord of Blood.
  6. I work from home 60% of the time, and with this new monitor I will have: 1 x 27" 1440p (Freesync) 1 x 27" 1440p (Gsync) So, I'll be using the new monitor for gaming, but both monitors for productivity. I considered going ultrawide, but I prefer to just have two monitors.
  7. I'm building my new PC this week, and I am sticking with 1440p (165hz) for the next 5-year cycle. 4k is impressive, but for me I'd much rather have high, stable refresh rates. My build (assembling this weekend): 5800x3D 6950 XT 32GB DDR4 3600hz MSI Mag B550 Tomahawk mobo LG 27GP83B-B monitor (27" 1440p 165hz) Bunch of M.2 and other SSDs
  8. Finally got around to seeing this and loved it. Love how Radcliffe plays it straight, and all the little absurd bits (like Beat It being a parody of Eat It, and not the other way around).
  9. Basically unless a show is the #1 watched thing on the entire internet in the first weekend, then Netflix is going to cancel it. I'm glad I just set up a home Plex server so I can just download and watch whatever I want with the same type of UI.
  10. Looks like he was helping a stranded motorist: Jeremy Renner was helping stranded motorist at time of accident, Reno mayor says WWW.UPI.COM Film and TV star Jeremy Renner was helping a stranded motorist when he was seriously injured by his own snow plow on New Year's Day, Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve says.
  11. Now, it is still possible that McCarthy ends up as speaker—but on later votes. It's also possible that Democrats make a deal with moderate Republicans to elect a moderate Republican speaker (hopefully the latter happens).
  12. More attacks on Kyiv right now. So far 16 drones shot down. The good news is that Ukraine is reporting the Iris-T system has been 100% effective. Also, Ukraine struck a barracks in Donetsk where 600 Russian troops were housed (formerly a school). Unfortunately for the soldiers, Russian had put ammo in the building as well, and the HIMARS blew the entire building up.
  13. When the death of SCOTUS members is the quickest and easiest way for people to attain justice and modernize the US' laws...then people are going to start thinking about it. Maybe SCOTUS should rule based on modern values and they wouldn't feel so afraid.
  14. It's rare that I support actors becoming world leaders, but I suppose wartime PR is one of the times when it really comes in handy. Powerful stuff.
  15. Hundreds of police cruisers take part in the high-speed pursuit of a criminal:
  16. Sitting in the ICU with my wife, her cousin OD'd on coke laced with fentanyl. NARCAN didn't work, but he somehow survived. Waiting to see if his kidneys are still able to function. Drug situation is horrible.
