  1. Not compared to Greenshot, it doesn't. Seriously, it's free and you guys should try it! Snaggit is also great, but isn't free.
  2. Snipping tool sucks, you can't even have multiple windows open at once in windows 11. Also it doesn't have built-in annotation tools or shapes
  3. Yeah, after posting that I went and did some research...looks like he harassed (non-sexually?) a writer on community (who has since publicly accepted his apology and says he's better now). He's like an edge lord who is a total dick. Better than a literal physical abuser...but not good. It's a shame, as his thoughts on writing are really good, especially the advice he gives to new writers.
  4. Never have heroes (not that he was my hero, lol - Dan Harmon is the more talented of the two...but hopefully he also isn't a piece of shit).
  5. Remember when the right-wing threw a hissy fit over incandescent bulbs? Nowadays who would even want to buy them? Obviously there are a few niche cases where they are great (extreme temperatures, etc)...but they still exist in those cases.
  6. We will be closed Nov 11 to commemorate Remembrance and Kaiser Wilhelm II day! We will be closed Sept 5 to commemorate Labour and Industrial Tycoon day!
  7. Let's get the Special Counsel to make a special deal: all current and former Presidents are put in prison, and all future Presidents are put in prison following a single term.
  8. I feel the same, I think. It was beautiful and I think it's still a good film despite the poor character writing (if you can get past it), but it massively failed its potential. Just a few small tweaks could have made it great.
  9. Or, on the screen where it shows the image, hold-press on the image and options will come up on the bottom, including Copy Imgur Link.
  10. Read some good analysis about the situation in Soledar/Bakhmut, and how it mirrors earlier situations around Kharkiv/Severodonetsk, etc. Basically: Russia decides it wants to take a town, regardless of the value They throw infantry and gear at it like a meat grinder, and the chain of command fails to let the top know that the push isn't worth it Ukraine slowly gives ground while extracting massive casualties from Russia Russia eventually takes the area at a massive casualty and gear imbalance to Ukraine Ukraine takes this time to mass troops and gear elsewhere Once Russia's advance in the aforementioned sector culminates and they are spent, Ukraine makes a coordinated push in another area more easily I believe this is the case with Soledar. Russia is literally throwing waves of infantry across open fields to take this town, and Ukraine is gutting them at a rate of 400-500+ per day. Russia at this point can't even keep up consistent artillery or air fire. Ukraine is giving a bit of ground each day, but making Russia pay for it massively. For instance, last night Ukraine fire a single Tochka ballistic missile at a concentration of Russians at the edge of the town, killing 100+. Meanwhile...Ukraine doesn't appear to be using anything other than infantry and artillery to hold this position (and the usual drones, etc). A few medic APCs have been spotted as well. But no tanks, AFVs, etc. This is likely because Ukraine is massing for a winter/spring offensive elsewhere while Russia concentrates on a relatively unimportant area at massive cost, simply because the people at the top say it's important. In this case mostly because of the valuable salt mines that Wagner intends to exploit...even though I don't see how they can operate it or hold it for long.
  11. I just use Greenshot (free screenshot app). I press PrtScn, drag over the image, and then select Upload to Imgur. It auto-copies the image URL (not album). Bam! Takes 5 seconds.
  12. We've had a lot of snow this winter, but the temperatures have been fairly mild. Mostly hovering around -10 to -15, which isn't bad. Last year in January we had a 3-week stretch of -40.
  13. What's going to happen now is amazing double-speak, with the right-wing both insisting that because Biden did it, that means it's no big deal that Trump did it...but also that Biden should be in big trouble (but ignore that that means Trump should also be in trouble).
  14. Poland is currently announcing they are sending Leopard II tanks to Ukraine, the first official announcement of western MBTs.
  15. Russia is throwing everything they have at Soledar, and Ukraine is doing the same to hold it, expending "titanic" effort. The daily casualty reports show this, with Ukraine claiming to take out 10-15 tanks per day, along with hundreds of Russians. Russia is making steady progress in that city, though their claims of encirclement appears to be premature and for propaganda purposes. The question is: with the ground in the east now frozen, does Ukraine start a winter offensive? They've hinted that they will, and some of their units are mysteriously absent from the eastern frontlines. Russia seems to think Ukraine is going to strike at the south, pushing through Zaporizhzhia once the ground is hard enough to support heavy armor.
  16. Exterior renovations on the home are complete, finally. We wanted a more modern look, but also to fit in with the neighbourhood (which is mostly thicker, original cedar lapboard siding). Previous owners put cheap vinyl on, and it needed to be replaced. So we updated to a better product (cellular composite siding), made sure the exterior insulation was good, got new doors, redid the soffits, pot lights, eaves, etc. Cost a decent amount, but we plan to live here for 30+ years so wanted a nice refresh that fits the mid-century neighbourhood. The last thing we wanted was the current trendy white stucco with black trim. Yuck. Before: After:
  17. Flights across the U.S. grounded after FAA experiences computer outage WWW.NBCNEWS.COM The Federal Aviation Administration said it had "ordered airlines to pause all domestic departures until 9 a.m. Eastern Time to allow the agency to validate the integrity of flight and safety information."
  18. If we've learned anything from Ukraine, it's that the most effective navy in the world is likely 10,000 dingies, each manned by two guys with MLAWs and Stingers.
  19. I mean, the biggest issue with China wanting to invade Taiwan is that performing a massive troop marine assault is incredibly difficult. Overlord was possible because Germany didn't have satellites and such.
  20. Are you sure you didn't accidentally shake hands with a cop who had recently seen a photo of fentanyl?
