  1. Global Tetrahedron is a real company, but it's also the name of an Evil Megacorporation™ from The Onion's book This Dumb Century. In real life, it was founded less than two weeks ago. It appears to be owned by Jeff Lawson and Ben Collins: The Onion Sold by G/O Media - The New York Times WWW.NYTIMES.COM The satirical news website was bought by a new firm in Chicago that took inspiration for its name, Global Tetrahedron, from a book written by The Onion’s staff. Looks like they plan to bring back the Onion News Network and some other things that were cut in the past. This is great news.
  2. Time to go back to full ballistic weaponry! A big ball of iron launched in a parabolic arc doesn't care about jamming!
  3. I specifically froze my updates and just use the Script Extender to launch—I don't plan to get this upgrade since as you say, it's actually a downgrade on PC.
  4. One of the big promises (and kind of excuse for why other long-range weaponry wasn't being provided) was that the GLSDB would be useful. Unfortunately, it appears that (like Wade said earlier) Russian anti-GPS and EW jamming is proving very effective against US drones and munitions:
  5. For sure. "It's the job of the free press to make all politicians look as bad as possible...in a way that generates the most ad revenue."
  6. Russian minister detained after taking bribe, law enforcement agency says | Russia | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM Arrest of deputy defence minister Timur Ivanov comes weeks after Vladimir Putin urged FSB to step up efforts to root out corruption The Deputy Defense Minister of Russia was arrested by the FSB. Ukrainian intelligence already taking credit, saying they basically funneled a $10k bribe to him in order to get him caught by the FSB on corruption/treason charges. Russian officials are dumb enough to fall for it.
  7. Ukraine to increase long-range strikes in Russia, says UK defence chief WWW.FT.COM Admiral Sir Tony Radakin tells the FT fresh military aid will help Kyiv reshape ‘difficult’ land fight against Moscow No confirmation as yet if this means the UK will allow Storm Shadows and other munitions to be used against targets inside Russia.
  8. The Papers of Record™ in the US are just absolute shit. Yeah, they're better than Fox News and they have some good reporters working for them, but the ownership and editorials are sooooooooooooooo elitist it's ridiculous. "Only we can save DEMOCRACY by both-siding every story!"
  9. Far more likely that we discover in 2027 that Musk has been slowly draining batteries by using the onboard CPU to mine dogecoin.
  10. On my flight to Montreal a few weeks back, I was on a 3-3 plane (737-800) and had the inside seat (my wife had window). The guy in the aisle next to me spread his arms and legs out into my personal space. The unwritten rule is that the person in the middle seat gets both arm rests (since they don't have aisle/window for more room), but this guy wasn't having any of it. The entire flight he was on Facebook watching right-wing Pierre Poilievre and conspiracy videos, though, so I didn't want to start anything with him since he 100% seemed the type to start an altercation. Flying is so bad nowadays that it honestly is affecting our plans to travel.
  11. Germany once again proving to be weak and spineless—they've been saying for over a year that the only way they'll deliver any Taurus missiles (like Storm Shadows, but with larger warheads) to Ukraine is if the US is also going to commit long-range strike missiles, as Germany knows that Ukraine will use Tauruses to take out the Kerch bridge. Basically, that Germany won't be a leader, just a follower. However, now that the US is going to provide long-range single-warhead ATACMS...Germany is saying they won't send any Tauruses.
  12. Looks like the gear is indeed waiting on Biden's signature. In Poland: Also more vehicle info from the latest UK package (in addition to Storm Shadows and AA missies:
  13. I was curious so looked up the kwh/100km for EVs (measure of how little energy it takes to go 100km). Teslas tend to be around 15, which isn't bad. My own Prius Prime in EV mode gets around 11, which is nice.
  14. I didn't post, but they appear to have taken out another vessel at Sevastopol a few days ago. Russia's biggest and oldest repair vessel.
  15. The UK announced a massive military package for Ukraine today, including a new batch of storm shadow missiles. I hope the real gift the US and UK give is permission for their missiles to be used on targets inside Russia.
  16. Greece has announced they have a Patriot system they can give Ukraine. They will give a second if the US will guarantee air protection against Turkey. The US is now saying the military package will arrive in Ukraine "much sooner" than anyone expects. I would guess the US gear is already in Germany or Poland just waiting for the Senate to pass the bill.
  17. Just a moment... WWW.POLITICO.COM Biden preparing package that will include Bradleys, armoured vehicles, artillery, missiles, and more.
  18. During the pandemic my province had to step in an nationalize a few care homes because the private operators were doing such a horrible job. IMO all healthcare (including elder care) should be public, not private.
  19. Vaccine breakthrough means no more chasing strains NEWS.UCR.EDU Scientists at UC Riverside have demonstrated a new, RNA-based vaccine strategy that is effective against any strain of a virus and can be used safely even by babies or the immunocompromised.
