CayceG Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 Genuinely did not know this was a possibility. Holy shit. Quote
Guest Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 I’m glad more people are learning about the parliamentary rules available to the Dems that Chuck has refused to utilize. Quote
Kal-El814 Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 Gotta love that the Senate is like a poorly designed boardgame where any player can just grind shit to a halt at a whim whenever they want and the only reason it doesn't happen is norms. Quote

The fucking thing runs on unanimous consent! How goddamn broken is that?!? Glad Chuck is finally finding out that he's extremely vulnerable as a NY senator and is using that to not suck...but too little too late. Shame I can't vote against him! Quote

Joe Posted October 1, 2020 Posted October 1, 2020 So in contrast, how many times did McConnell do this as minority leader? If the answer is often, then yeah Chuck sucks. If the answer is never, then we should be happy that Chuck is being super feisty, no? Quote

b_m_b_m_b_m Posted October 1, 2020 Posted October 1, 2020 Aoc could knock out gillibrand very easily. Chuck, the minority leader with backing from wall street, would be a stretch even for her Quote

b_m_b_m_b_m Posted October 1, 2020 Posted October 1, 2020 The other factor is the unknown after inauguration and work in the Senate. A good solid two years can paper over a lackluster previous 6+ If Chuck isn't willing to go to the mat for a president Biden and push some real legislative victories despite the majority, I can see blood in the water.
