What do y'all do for a second Switch controller? Do you buy a second joycon or just get one of those Switch controllers that look like a regular controller?

Did you get the official Nintendo one? Amazon seems to have a lot of choices that are much cheaper, but I don't know if there is an appreciable difference quality wise.

I have 3 official Nintendo ones because I have a problem with limited edition controllers

I’m pretty cheap in most areas, but I’ve never had good luck with non-official controllers. I balked at a $70 controller, but ended up grabbing one and I love it.

just buy the damn controller. Third party controllers generally suck. That’s why they’re so cheap. 
 

I think first party controllers are overpriced, but I do get plenty of use and the quality is excellent.

It appears I angered the Switch gods with this thread. The controller joystick was faulty lol. I sent it back and ordered the real Pro. Coming on Thursday.

It was closer to $40, but I did end up getting the official one.

Pro Controller is good for 3D games, sucks for 2D games because the d-pad isn't great.

Get an 8Bitdo for a third controller. Only controller I use for 2D games, and it still works fine for 3D games. Only real downside is you can't wakeup the Switch with it like you can with the Pro.
