I also kind of dig the Castlevania look of Dead Cells.

PC bruh. Time to make some gains. Or get a Switch. Hades isn't so graphically intensive either, wouldn't need a powerhouse computer or anything. Think about it . . . :p

Actually I can get it on my laptop, yeah, it's fairly new and one of those corny Predator gaming laptops. Dead Cells looks cooler though, is Hades that much better?

Both are great games, but knowing how you feel about roguelites, I think you'd vastly prefer Hades. It's got a lot of story, good dialogue (a lot of which is voice acted) and great characters. You also get a great sense of progression on re-runs since there are permanent upgrades you carry over from run to run. It just fits for you more. Dead Cells has a story but it's much less than Hades, more in the background via lore and that sort of thing. Its gameplay is great, but so is Hades'.

DAMN! Now I'll have to choose. Then again the way it's going I'll be on Returnal's Biome 6 for the next six months. Was blasting through it up until then.

Hades was rated for Playstation. Hold out and it'll come and play Dead Cells in the meantime.

Hades is REALLY good. Definitely one of those, "just one more game" games. I have Resogun as well but haven't put much time into it. Reminds me a lot of that old game DEFENDER for some reason :p

It was inspired by Defender.

You need Nex Machina. It's on sale right now for like $5 on PSN. Pure masterful Arcade-ness

And the credits roll... really dug everything about this game. In fact its my GOTY so far. I'll definitely keep playing to full explore some of the environments and unlock more secrets but this game was such a throw back for me to the 16 bit and Arcadw days but with today's graphics. Its tough but fair, and not impossible at all. I found it to be easier than the souls games to be honest. If I had to rank the bosses, I'd probably rank the third one as the hardest for me. I already have Resogun and bought Nex Machina yesterday. Will definitely be checking out more of Housemarque's games going forward.

I wasn't able to play last night and I feel like someone took my lollipop away. This game is so absurdly addictive, I literally was hoping for a bj to be over quickly last night so I can try out some tactics I thought of during said head.

I have problems.

Btw @skillzdadirecta, they actually got Eugene Jarvis, who designed Defender and Robotron, on board for designing Nex Machina. That's apparently how obsessed HM is with old school Arcade games.

If it's a good blow job, it's a problem. Bad one, Returnal is less punishing then. :p

But I do get the general idea he's getting at.

And I lost like 2 hours of sleep because I couldn't control myself and went for another session at 11pm somehow. Now I'm addicted to unlocking all remaining weapon traits even if I think the weapon sucks...great...

I'm doing the same thing. I'm also now fully exploring each biome and fighting the bosses again to further unlock their profiles. Which weapons do you think suck? I've found them all to be usefull and a couple are pretty O.P.

"Suck" was a strong word. There are several I haven't really properly unlocked traits for and basically every weapon blows in its initial state. Coilspine Shredder and that one that shoots three 'crystals'/shards that have to return. If you miss, the projectile takes forever to return and you just stand there, I couldn't get rid of it quickly enough lol.

Actually, I love the bestiary and lore entries and everything. I'm a fan of stuff like that and I also can't wait to unlock more of the boss lore entries. But just in general, the gameplay loop is so damn good and airtight, I really just couldn't wait to play more.

I unlocked Slug Shot II for the Spitmaw yesterday and it's pretty great. One of my favorite guns is actually the regular Sidearm Pistol with Burst Fire, Charge and Serrated. The way it feels and melts health bars one clip at a time is REALLY satisfying.

Also this is one of the most atmospheric games I've ever played. I ranted about it before but the sound design on headphones with 3D audio and the aesthetics...it's such a gorgeous, engrossing game.

Coilspine Shredder eh? Don't think I've gotten that one yet. The crytal one is ok... I just beat the third boss with that one least night. I think the Pylon gun and the toxic goo gun are pretty O.P. You can pretty much shoot stuff and wait for enemies to die.

Some on Reset swear by the Coilspine Shredder. I wasn't able to find a good use, but I don't know how many upgrades it takes before it's OP.

What it has going for it is that you can charge the shot but it's single shot so feels a tad cumbersome to me. I haven't unlocked any traits for it yet at all but I'm willing to bet this thing also has some aces up its sleeve. I'll report back if I can upgrade it a bit.

RETURNAL PATCH 1.4.0 — Housemarque

Everyone playing/played, this apparently fixes the trophy issues, scout log spawning rates and some other stuff that were blatant issues apparently especially if you were trying to Platinum it.

@skillzdadirecta I wonder if this happened to you and the Coilspine Shredder:

"Fixed weapons not being found in Biomes after scanning but not collecting them"

Maybe you scanned it and thought it was trash, didn't pick it up and no spawn afterwards

It's possible. I don't remember ever seeing it but it's entirely possible.

There's no way this isn't going down as one of the games of the gen for me at this point.

On Act 3 now and just destroying shit with confidence. I'm so into how much this game pushed my playstyle to looking super slick. Just did a complete Biome 1 run earlier and only got hit once when fighting Phrike. I had a blade enhancer and melee'd him regularly, such a cool move.

Is the thermogenic whatever good? I used it for a little and it seemed awful, but I suck so who knows lol.

It's pretty powerful. Doesn't have a big clip but it can one shot enemies at higher levels. I will repeat though... ALL of the guns in this game are useful with the right perks. Like evry one of them.
