But to me and to the person here in town that pointed it comes off sort of after the fact. Like telling a person that is in an accident to not crash. I more find it funny, because a few years back they put out a statement during a high wind event that if yourself in a roll over incident that you should stop driving along the US95 corridor... mclumber1
Some fairly strong wind and some rain over night in the Vegas area - but everything is nice and dry as of this morning during my commute to work. It's still windy and they clouds are pretty dark, so we may still have some heavy rain today.

People underestimate how deep the water is and can’t see the rise and fall of the road under the water. 1 hour ago, Littleronin said: I don't really hear it. The phrase is said because flooding waters can cause deaths after the rain passes. A flood and dangerous currents can sweep somebody in the middle of a storm, but many people will drive in flooded roadways after a storm, thinking their car will be fine. They won’t realize the depth drops considerably, and that’s when they’re killed.

Guest
They literally put “Turn Around Don’t Drown” on the freeway electronic signs when flash flooding is expected here
Commissar SFLUFAN
I can attest to it being displayed here in Virginia on highway electronic signs as well.
