I'm sure that some "bleeding heart" will spew some nauseating, happy horseshit about how I should regret the loss of any human life, or that they are just as much victims of this war, or blah blah blah.

To which I say, "I don't fucking care."

I see no reason to grant dignity to invaders who are denying the dignity of those they are invading.

At what point do the Ukrainians blow the gas pipelines leading to Europe? I've already seen expressions online to the effect of "if Europe won't help us or block Russian gas, then we shouldn't allow Russian gas through."

I suspect that this is one of those escalation spots that will turn the war into a full blown conflict involving multiple nations. There are a couple of instances I can see that might just do that, including Russian usage of chemical warfare, tactical nuclear weapons and attacking the infrastructure of outside actors. With the way things are going right now, I honestly couldn't predict exactly which ones might actually be enough of a pressure point.

One comment I do want to make because this has been driving me nuts. People do not understand the difference between strategic and tactical nuclear/atomic weapons, but every time I have brought up tactical nukes, people start treating it as some kind of mutual assured destruction scenario, totally oblivious to what a tactical nuke actually is.

Someone on resetera asked why Zelenskyy would possibly stay as the Russians close in.

The answer is correct, and is ingrained in the culture of Ukraine (and eastern Europe in general). There is a much greater sense of self-sacrifice (for your family, greater good) than in western Europe/North America. These sorts of hero myths are strong, there. This is why you have Zelenskyy staying, and Klitschko and Poroshenko taking up arms. Is that view considered outdated in our own society? Probably. But it's realistic and pragmatic in defense of their own country and people.
