What is this now, like the 12th time the Turtles have been rebooted/reimagined?

Oh yeah, this show. I watched this and am not sure I can remember much of anything about it at this point. Didn't season one of this come our like 5 years ago? I guess COVID happened, but sheesh... is this from the creators of the Venture Bros? I recall finding this show to be extremely okay-ish. Doubt I will make the time for season two seeing as how much great content is out there.

Season 2 of Stranger Things fit in perfectly with the 80s vibe. A sequel to the beloved original that turned out to be messy retread of everything that happened in the first one, sloppily shoehorning in all the story beats from season 1 but making everything way bigger and more over the top, yet feeling rushed and soulless and missing all the subtle magic of the first... it was the PERFECT 80s sequel. A soulless cash grab.

I've completely forgotten this, but apparently in the very first episode there are characters who are supposed to be Roman's wife and daughter, and the he treats the girl like she's his daughter and I think she is even referred to as his daughter... But it could also be explained away later that she was just the kid of a woman he was in a relationship with... anyway, Roman is also wearing a wedding ring for like the entire first half of season one. Sometimes shows change shit up.

He's seen having sexual relationships with multiple women throughout the show... so maybe infertile but not impotant? Hard to say really, but they don't really spell it out if he is supposed to be impotant. They spent a lot of time on Romans bedroom issues, but zero time on Kendall. Their one kid is clearly not white, and I guess the other one was from a donor or something? It's never really established. This show is kinda funny in that sometimes things that seem really important and get lots of screen time and go nowhere... and then there are other things end up being really important, but if you missed a single line from 2 episodes ago you may be completely lost. This show doesn't hold your hand or repeat itself. It moves very fast and a lot of what is happening you only notice if you read between the lines.

They say the sign of any good compromise is when all parties hate it, so, yeah, I don't know... this is all just a big shit show anyway. It's all bluster and nonsense.

I think that would have been too on the nose. I think we're supposed to think he's thinking about it. Apparently in one take he did climb up on the rail in the last scene and Colin came and got him down. I don't think he's going to kill himself. At the end of the day, he's too proud and concerned with his legacy. He'll find some new enterprise to pour all of his energy into and fail at.

So seriously, what is the deal with them buying Pierce? Did I miss a line somewhere that explained something about how that wasn't a thing anymore, or are the still lined up to buy it?

I think I’m just going full spoilers / no blackouts here, if you watch succession and haven’t seen the finale and are in this thread you are just asking to be spoiled, so tough noogies… I saw that scene a lot of different ways, yes, there is the subservience angle, and it’s clear Tom putting out his hand is an olive branch / him thinking about accepting her offer of getting back together... it also him finally feeling like he has the power in the relationship… and she is willing to play along, but going deeper, I think this is her realizing that if she stays with Tom, she still has an angle into maybe taking control, so she is not giving up on the fantasy of running the big show. That’s why she turned on Kendall, because she realized she still had some skin in the game and didn’t want to just give up. If not her, then maybe their kid? I don’t know, but I loved that scene. So here’s what I am wondering… aren’t all of the kids still on the hook for buying Pierce? They kinda dropped that entire part of the story for the second half of the season, but they were supposed to cash out in the sale to GoJo and then use the money to buy Pierce…. And nothing happened to make that go away right? So with the sale of Royco, the three of them are all committed to using their payout plus taking out additional massive loans to purchase Pierce and yet they all currently hate each other. It’s gonna be messy, but I bet they can back out of it somehow… but we’ll never know and it doesn’t really matter… the hustle will continue…

I think Pluto TV and that Plex TV streaming thing are basically the same service... or at least they are getting their content from the same sources... a lot of overlap. Like I said earlier, I'm like 90% sure you don't even need an account. You download Pluto and it's like subscribing to dollar store off-brand cable. You get hundreds of channels of weird ass shit.

Pluto TV is actually pretty cool. You should download it. It's like getting 200 goofball channels completely free. They have a channel that's nothing but 80s episodes of Price is Right 24 hours a day. Lots of old stuff like classic Dr Who and Star Trek and who knows what. It's completely free and full of weird funny content and some stuff that is surprisingly decent. And it's free, and I'm pretty sure you don't even need to make an account.

Everything about Nintendo is awful. I had a very pleasant chat with their online chat and have been given a special number to call. We'll see how that goes. I should never have bought a digital game from Nintendo, because THEY SUCK SO MUCH AT ANYTHING LIKE THIS.

So I can play MY game that I paid for on my switch lite on my sons account, but I can't make a new account that can play MY games on MY system? And if I make this the primary console, the main switch in our house can't play any games unless it's the one account logged in? This is a stupid ass clusterfuck. I should have gone with my initial instinct and NOT bought this console, because it looked annoying as fuck to deal with this stuff, and you guys were all like, NO YOU ARE DUMB, IT'S EASY, so I was all like, okay, maybe I am dumb... but no, I am not dumb, THIS SUCKS...

I love when every ounce of excitement for a new console is replaced with frustration and annoyance at Nintendo byzantine online/account bullshit. My oldest son is technically the owner of our primary switch... his account is the one that is the primary account of the main Switch or whatever. I use a different account on that same switch. I opened the new switch lite and made a new account since I wanted this one to be completely fresh and I was asked to enter my nintendo account linking my new switch lite to the Nintendo Account. I then tried to download some games that I paid for and it would not let me access them since this new account was not able to download games. So I log in with my sons account, and now the first account I created has disappeared and it now won't let me tie any additional accounts to this primary Nintendo Account or whatever? And now since it's not the primary account, I can't setup a second account on this new console and play games on it because it's not the correct account? I'm so confused I don't even know how to explain the problem. Why is like this? Should this be this annoying? NO. What the fuck. Is there some online explainer for this that isn't the official Nintendo site, because their info SUCKS ASS. Maybe I should just return this and never give Nintendo another penny for the rest of my life, which seems to be what they want me to do.

As a rich powerful white straight man, I get so annoyed at all of the people we've spent the last 200 years shitting on acting like that's a problem or something. Why can't we just be free to say and do whatever we want at the expense of anyone we want? We're the one's in power and it's always been that way and we like it that way. If you have a problem with that just start your own society that's been carefully structured to keep your exact socioeconomic group at the top at the expense of others and get back to us in a few hundred years... until then, just shut the fuck up and stay in the place our system is designed to keep you in...
