Ticket prices in general are insane. For pretty much everything... concerts, comedy shows, sporting events, theme parks, museums, movies... everything... I feel like the prices of tickets has gone up faster and much more aggressively than most other things.

Yikes, I guess I need to accelerate my rewatch... I'm almost done with season 1. I was kinda worried it wouldn't hold up or whatever, but it's still 🔥 My interest really waned the last few seasons and I still have not watched season 7. The massive gaps just killed all the momentum and I can't even remember what is happening and why. Thus the rewatch... I probably watched Seasons one through three like 4 or 5 times each. After that it falls off a lot. I only watched the last few season once and I remember being kinda lost and not really "feeling it" or whatever. The magic was kinda gone. Hopefully binging the whole run will make it feel more cohesive without the 3-4 year gaps between seasons.

The idea that MLK was a popular public figure during his years of activism is patently false. He was not. He was demonized and widely criticized by mainstream media, politicians and a considerable majority of the public.

$3,500 is a complete non-starter. It looks cool, but like $1,000 cool. I have a really hard time seeing how this becomes any sort of hit, even a niche one at that ridiculous price. I've said that before about Apple products, but $3,500 really does put this in a category of product that just slams the door shut for like 99.9% of the population.

I was late to the party on Bojak, so I binged it and missed out on all cliffhangers. Season cliff hangers can be fun, but not when it takes years and years to get the next season.

Yeah, a year still feels like a really long time when you are 10. I think I've come around to the weird truth that the anticipation is usually just as much fun as the thing you are waiting for. I also think that may be why I like TV more, because I LOVE it when a show ends and you are like... UGH! I want the next one now!!! And then you have to wait a week... that's actually a great feeling.

I warned my 10 yo about the ending and it still pissed him off. His exact quote was... "That wasn't a cliff hanger, it was a mount Everest hanger". He really liked everything but the ending, which he really really did not like. I don't think kids these days like cliff hangers... I thought the ending was great. I'm a sucker for a good cliff hanger... I thought the whole movie was great. I think the first one was better overall, but this is a worthy follow-up which is saying a lot, since the first was one of the best movies in recent memory.

Eating Chic-fil-a as I type this... served up to me buy an entire crew of white people.

I have also noticed this phenomenon... and we also buy our groceries from about 5 or 6 different stores depending on what we need... We regularly go to... Schnucks (regional middle of the road "standard" grocery store) Aldi's Target/Walmart Sams Club Dierbergs (regional fancier slightly more expensive "standard" grocery store) ...and these two are slightly less frequently visited but are still in the rotation Trader Joes Whole Foods It's a little nuts really...

We shop at Target all the time. (We also shop at Walmart all the time.) I can't even remember why*, but I can recall the left being outraged at Target for whatever reason a few years ago. I'm pretty sure they are actually a pretty politically conservative company, much like 90% of companies that exist. *30 seconds of Googling, and yeah, their ex-CEO gave tons of money to Republicans and republican causes and they got in trouble for donating to anti-gay rights groups as recently as 2017.
