  1. I impulsively bought Pokémon Brilliant Diamond when I saw Amazon had it for $40. Haven’t played a mainline Pokémon game in over a decade, and I skipped this generation the first time around, so it feels “”fresh””.
  2. Just finished the season. Having nothing to compare it to, I fully loved it. I feel like this really could be a big crossover hit. There’s some deeply nerdy shit at the core of this, but it starts off simply enough that I think plenty of people could connect with the story/characters and would still be on board by the time things get real wacky. And a really fun cast! Shoutout to Benedict Wong in particular, I absolutely loved the vibe he brought to this.
  3. I forgot today was Easter. My sister is out of town, I don’t have anyone else I would “celebrate” with.
  4. If nothing else, it looks like he gave a lot of fun comedic actors a payday. I clocked Andy Daly as the Quaker Oats guy.
  5. I’ve watched the first two episodes, and I dig it. Downloaded the rest of the season on my iPad for my flights back home tomorrow.
  6. This was my first thought. My second thought: “Do I really need more mail that I’ll just throw away without reading?”
  7. Usually with a puzzle game, if I get stuck, I’ll put it down for a day or two and try to come back with a fresh perspective. That didn’t help much with Baba is You. I kept coming back to the same 3-4 puzzles I was stuck on every day during my lunch break, and I never made any progress. It made me feel insane after a while. I wasn’t even that far in, I think this was the third zone.
  8. That’s me. Closest I’ve ever got to getting sucked into an MMO was Guild Wars 2, but that only lasted maybe a month. I’ve tried a lot over the years, but nothing sticks. Now that I think about it, I had an active WoW account for a few months, back around when Diablo 3 came out, I think there was some deal like if you paid for a 6 month sub you got D3 for free. And then I barely played either lol.
  9. Yeah, if the preview shows it’s a blowout, I just skip it. If it’s a closer fight, I’ll watch to see what’s happening so that I can plan accordingly.
  10. Once every couple of months I think “would it be funny to get into WoW now?” Then I remember it’s an MMO, which means I’ll get tired of playing it after about 3 days.
  11. I completely suck at this game. I’ve played probably 20 runs and I think the furthest I’ve gotten is ante 7, once. This is gonna be my new Slay the Spire - a game I played for years, but never really cracked. Every time I finish a run, it feels like a total fluke.
  12. Every time someone mentions Deadwood, I think “I should probably watch all of Deadwood again, huh?” even though it’s only been a couple years since my last watch. Such an oddly comforting show.
  13. I hate @Biggie so much, I wouldn’t even buy him Unicorn Overlord.
  14. I get that, but also, it’s a miracle nobody died while making the first one, so I’m ok if they cut a few corners this time around.
  15. I put in my $20 last night. I had been walking for hours and thought I would take a break at a slot machine for a while. It… didn’t last long.
  16. This is fun. Had delay complications on my flight out here so I had like a 13 hour travel day on Sunday, and they fucked up my hotel reservation so I had to pay for my first night. Then I get to work, and nobody knows what is happening. I showed up yesterday and couldn’t log into anything, they didn’t have a temporary badge for me so I can’t even get around the building on my own. Eventually they sent me “home” early because they didn’t have any work for me. Then I come in today, and it’s similar. Half of the day so far I’m just doing busywork that will probably hurt things overall, but I had to stop that because they had to spin up operations again to do more stupid shit. Now I’m waiting for that to be done so I can continue on with my bullshit little tasks that will be extremely inefficient, but nobody listens to me when I bring this up. But hey, I got to wander around the strip yesterday afternoon and look at all of the insane ways to waste money, so that was fun.
  17. I liked it, but I’m an easy mark for this franchise. Should’ve watched Nope instead.
  18. I should’ve bought a bigger suitcase. It’s been a long time since I’ve flown for a trip longer than 4-5 days. I just have a carry on and a backpack. I’ll be doing laundry at least once on this trip.
  19. Looking this up. The only way I could ever justify spending that much on a single meal is a ridiculously large/fancy buffet, so good call. I’ll be playing some UO on this trip, it’s fine.
  20. I don’t know for sure, but I think it’ll be normal-ish work days, and I should have at least one day off. The Hoover Dam is on my list. It’s only about a 30 minute drive from where I’ll be working, so I could knock that out in an afternoon. I was looking at shows, but nothing really caught my eye. Probably just end up people watching on the strip.
  21. I’ll play it safe and continue my standard practice of not eating ANY sushi. Oh yeah, I’m making a lot of the best restaurants on Yelp with a single $ rating. The per diem is good, but not that good.
  22. I work for a major grocery chain, and they’re are in the process of opening a new distribution center in the Las Vegas area. While they’re in this transitional period and operating out of both warehouses, they need extra help, and since I have years of experience in a boring but very specific job, they’re flying me out for two weeks. It was a surprising offer, since I had never heard of anyone at my (low) level getting this type of travel work. I’m pretty excited. I’ve been to Vegas once, but it was a family trip when I was 18 and we didn’t spend much time in Vegas proper.
