I really enjoyed Trial of the Chicago 7, but it doesn't need to win anything. If they wanna be woke, Judas is right there (and is the better movie in basically every way).

Love that Judas and the Black Messiah is getting recognized, although it's weird that the co-leads both ended up getting nominated for supporting. I've seen most of the major nominees at this point, except The Father, Minari, and Promising Young Woman (which I'll see this week). It's honestly rude that the Tenet score wasn't nominated.

Speed - this movie is... basically perfect? I had seen it before as a kid, but at that time I mostly just excited that I was allowed to watch an R rated action movie.

I've had a little bit of that frustration of being so "essential" that I had to keep showing up to work in a building with a lot of idiots for the past year, but not "at risk" enough to grab a vaccine yet. I’ve started up this hot new game on my iPad- XCOM: Enemy Unknown. I’ve owned it pretty much since it came out, but would always get frustrated immediately and put it away. I’ve only played it for maybe 3 hours and I’m already seeing a bunch of new stuff, so that shows just how little I’ve played up until now.

Ryan Murphy made some deal with the Devil and now every 2 sentence pitch he comes up with is automatically produced. Some of them go to other networks/Netflix. The rest just get dumped into AHS. And because he has just too many great ideas, they're coming out with a spin-off anthology series, cleverly titled American Horror Stories. Home Alone and Misery both came out in November 1990. Just something to think about.

Fun fact: the 11th season of American Horror Story will be all about the production of this scene.

I don’t really seek out the extra gory, sadistic, and/or sexually violent stuff. I’ve seen a few of these, mostly the ones that are more or less “normal” movies with some upsetting scenes.

I look forward to buying this when it hits $20-30, play it for about 5 hours, then realize I have no interest in playing it for another 200+ hours, then put it away forever.
