Ah, so it takes place in the real world and it's about how the Powers-that-be force everyone to take blue PILLS, just like how they're forcing everyone to be VACCINATED so that deep-state lizard people can control your MIND under the guise of COVID-1984!! I hope there's a lot of gay antics in this movie, otherwise I can see the far right Facebook loonies hoisting this film up as their banner.

Also there's a shitload of story that was developed outside the main films, and I swear they better not fucking expect people to know any of it. Nobody played The Matrix Online, ok? Just pretend it never happened, movie. You'll be MUCH better off.

I found out apparently Lawrence Fishburne isn't in this movie and I'm a little upset about that.

The characters are dead and I don't know how they're going to handle that. Reincarnations? Dunno. But the Matrix wasn't destroyed, they just entered a truce/equilibrium period where people are allowed to leave if they choose and are left alone, and people that want to stay feed the machines.

Pretty interesting how it states whatever time it is.

I have no actual idea, but it could be anything from disabling/removing a custom firmware ROM that initializes the computer system, or just ripping out the entire computer control system. If you had a motherboard with a bespoke architecture that only ran with a custom BIOS, it would be as good as a paperweight without it. You can't even reverse engineer it unless you have another one that's working.

So majority white conservative Texas state governors and officials ensured that underprivileged minorities will have more babies, and that those babies will flood state welfare programs and also eventually dwarf the white population, ensuring that future generations of Texans will be majority liberal, and majority non-white governors and officials running the state? Sounds like Republicans are once again working to defeat themselves.

The Tropic Thunder one is interesting to me. I didn't know there were people offended by it, as I thought it was understood that was the point, to have a character that's not self-aware enough to know what he's doing is wrong. At what point do we say we can't have the creative freedom to make comments on that because then the illustration itself is offensive? I'm curious what the African Americans on this board think of that movie, because I'm probably way too white nerd to have any good frame of reference.

I don't agree with that distinction. I think for the purposes of the MCU, timelines/dimensions are the same thing.

It doesn't seem that far-fetched that he's probably overcome with ego. At this point in the character's life, he's gone from being a top neuro surgeon that's done things people said were impossible, to becoming Sorcerer Supreme and being told he's the best of them, and then being the one to devise a way to defeat the effects of the Infinity Stones against impossible odds. So he's pretty high off of his own success by this point.

That's....that's literally what a forum is for.

The guy that they got to play Spike. His face is too stern. Spike always looked carefree, like he wants to smile. He was also in his early 20s and super smug, so it fit the character.

They're definitely a product of their time. You have to be in the right mental state to enjoy them, much like any decades+ old game. For me, sometimes I crave the simplicity of a game like Quake without the hundreds of weapon upgrades, the achievements, all the extra keybindings tied to a whole menagerie of abilities. Dumb fun. Leave-your-brain-at-the-door fun. Thinking hurts and uses up valuable nutrients in the body that could be used to click a mouse button faster.

That's pretty late in the game to be finding that out!

This last episode was really cheesy. This show seems more kid-oriented than I thought. I don't think I'll bother keeping up with it. It's not really for me.

Well.... that's a disappointment. It doesn't look like anything you couldn't already get with existing fan mods. And here I was hoping for a Quake game that looks like Doom 2016.

I could not be less excited about this.
