  1. Question... Why didn't Microsoft show Minecraft on the series X show? I thought they were going to have raytracing running on it for the XSX. This has me worried that they are having trouble actually running games with raytracing turned on.
  2. My thoughts - they have had a long time, but they were still forced to show this too early. I am betting once they get ray-tracing going on this game it looks much better. But they put it out there so they are going to get hammered for what they showed. If they are planning on ray tracing then they are pretty much showing their game without their final lighting finished. Weird. As for for the "Upgrade" tab. I'm sure I'm wrong about this - but what if those were upgrades for your ship (that crash landed at the beginning). If this game is supposed to go forever (or 10 years) then maybe as there is new DLC you get upgrades to your ship that allow access to different parts of the Halo you are on, or even to travel to new worlds eventually. That would keep it from upgrading MC too much and making it not feel like Halo anymore.
  3. I would agree. That might be the best thing to come from the movie. The whole industry is crazy right now. I'm not sure they can bank on these all making a billion +. We all expect life to go back to normal someday... I have a feeling if Avatar 2 does not make a billion dollars the rest of the series probably does not get made.
  4. Why announce the date for anything other than 2? I would bet my house that 5 doesn't hit the date they announced. It's okay to have targets but why make all that public when it's just going to change.
  5. Yea there isn't a string of great games. It is honestly more of an idea. They pretty much have a blank slate to create a great spy game with a female protagonist. I could see anything from a UBI style open world game, or a MGS style stealth game, or possibly a more straight forward FPS.
  6. I'm probably getting ahead of myself - but I'm imagining some of the abilities from the Just Cause series added to Halo in a giant multiplayer match. That could be pretty cool.
  7. Several sites online pointing out the 'grappling hook' on his arm. I wouldn't have known that is what it was. A grappling hook added to Halo could make some interesting new possibilities.
  8. My guess would be that the first weekend would do very well. I think there are enough people that want to go out - and many of them are the anti facemask people. I think they would sell out theaters for a week or so. I just think it would not have much legs and attendance would quickly drop off after the people who are willing to go out see it.
  9. ... Only some of these people were choked out and beaten. (should be added at to the text for Valhalla and Legion)
  10. I think your are right... but my guess is that it will be much cheaper than a one X. I expect them to have an option to get the series S as a part of a subscription. Ultimate is $15 per month - pay $25 a month and get a Series S type of deal.
  11. It will be interesting to see how well this works. For users with older PC's and high bandwidth the optimal experience may be streaming. Hell this opens up the whole library of current games to people without even needing to add a graphics card to their pc.
  12. Unless and until they release this "demo" for other systems, it isn't really a demo but an advertisement. Let us see how this runs on a maxed out pc and on the series x. Nothing to compare it to makes it much less meaningful.
  13. The first time I got to play SM64 it was a couple months before the system released and a little mom and pop video game store had a playable kiosk of it set up. I played it with my dad, and I remember him telling me not to get too excited because obviously the home version couldn't possibly be as good graphically as what we were seeing in that store. We were still able to be impressed in those days. Nothing is good enough now.
  14. This comment probably needs its own thread, but early 3d games have aged like garbage. Most snes games are still great... Not star fox. As a matter of fact most n64 and ps1 games I can't look at anymore. In their day I loved them. Now I would rather play a NES game.
  15. 95. Twisted Metal or Chrono Trigger. I looked at the list for that year... I didn't play much at all. Also not a great year for games.
  16. Well I'm glad this trailer is out now and not being held for either a ms or Sony event. That was terrible.
  17. IGN has a story up about this right now. They say early in the story that the DC properties are not a part of the deal, then later in the story they talk about what a boon for sales it would be for Microsoft to get all the DC properties. No one knows what any of this means. I just hope EA doesn't win this bidding war.
  18. With all the different versions I don't want to think about the total I paid for SF2. There was regular, championship edition, turbo... plus I purchased it for more than one console. Not counting the summer I spent throwing countless quarters at the arcade machine.
  19. NBA2k is the worst example of a company to raise prices. The game is kneecapped without a constant connection to their shitty servers and the whole deal is just set up to collect micro-transactions. Then for them to say they won't support Smart-delivery or any cross gen purchases - yea get out of here with that.
  20. Yeah, even the new sony intro at the beginning of the youtube video looked compressed and shitty. That being said you could still see some of the textures used in the game were the originals. Which used to be fantastic but don't really stand up anymore. If they want to charge for a remastered version then they better put in the work.
