I get and agree with just about everything you are saying. I still just don't understand your number. Even if the tech stays the same forever, couldn't your goals of a reset be accomplished in 1000 years? That is long enough for everyone to be long gone. Even the Yoda race creatures.

Well to answer your question then - no it does not look like this will be out at launch.

I don't think there is a release date, but there is a vague 2021. So possibly launch window, but not at launch. Launch window is the new term for somewhere in the first 6 months I think.

60k years... that is a long time. Like there would be nothing at all to tie the movies together. All the tech would be different. The planets. Everything. I mean if they say 60k years went past but they still had familiar spaceships and were still using lightsabers and blasters that would be pretty odd.

Microsoft is over thinking. Just drop support for the old version. Issue an apology. It isn't like they lied, they tried like hell and it obviously didn't work out. People will move on, and those who can't upgrade can play it streaming.

I gave up an hour ago - you kept it going. I don't have time to teach economics to you. Look at reality - pre orders take days or weeks to sell out for consoles. Do you think these consoles would sit on store shelves for that long? I do think that it is possible (mostly because it has happened in the past) that retail employees can leak information.

They don't really need bots since it takes days or weeks to get through the preorder inventory. I have said this source is not likely credible. As time goes by it gets less so because retailers will not have a huge lead time. I am saying that retailers do get some lead time and it is possible for them to leak.

You seem to be a little too invested in this. I'm backing out. You are correct on all fronts. Bots don't exist. Leaks don't happen.

I think you over estimate the cloak and dagger abilities of the tech industry. Leaks happen all the time. But whatever. I still have my fingers crossed for $500. Hope we find out soon.

You say this like we haven't got this exact kind of information in the past from retail leaks. Games, features, prices... all this type of information has been leaked from the retail level countless times in the past. I think you are giving way too much credit to MS and or Sony. Hell we live in an era where CIA spies get their identities accidentally leaked. This is SUCH a silly thing for us to be arguing about. Please God let there be some new information soon...

Possibly. I see what you are saying and I agree to a point. But dumb things happen constantly. Really we will never know. Even if the price is $600 it won't mean that this person didn't make this up.

Watching this from afar... it is kind of funny. Epic thought they were pretty cute forcing a lawsuit... and here is our cute little video poking fun at apple's 1984 ad. Apple then comes over the top and says - how about we just put you out of business. This is kind of like Alien vs Predator. Whoever wins - we lose.

I'm not saying it is accurate, but every day that goes by it is going to be harder to keep the price a secret. There have got to be a lot of people "in the know" by this point with more people added to that list daily. Eventually the word will get out - either by intentional leak, or accidental reveal. Both these companies would be smart to just pull off the bandaid and get the price out there in front of people.

If it is going to be set in modern day the premise will have to be quite a bit different. Like many old movies a single cell phone would have solved all the problems immediately. Also... no reason to do this, no one ask for this... blah blah blah.
