  1. I think it's a law that everyone who downloads this has to attempt to fly over where they live and see if they can spot their house.
  2. https://www.forbes.com/sites/paultassi/2020/08/16/report-retail-insider-claims-xbox-series-x-may-be-599/ More leaks coming out that say $600. These could be wrong but there is starting to be a damn lot of evidence. My guess is that both consoles will be the same price. If Sony comes in for less they would win in a huge landslide... But most estimates are that the parts for the ps5 are more expensive because of the hard drive. I'm sure we will find out all the prices very soon.
  3. I don't like progression for characters where it doesn't make sense. It can make sense for some like batman. Several good batman movies show him getting better by acquiring new gadgets or training. I haven't noticed any hulk movies where he inserts a new spine so he can win the day. Honestly the problem has little to do with the hulk. The problem is the story telling got crammed into a game where it didn't fit. Great games have either an idea or or a story first and a game is created around it. For example the first gears of War game was the idea of "30 seconds of fun". You have a constant loop of intense great battles. The game was created to support the idea. Games like TLOU had an idea of a story to tell and the game was created to tell that story. With this avengers game they did it backwards. They had the game and money making strategy in mind first (destiny) and they then tried to fit characters and story into that setting later.
  4. This right here is what is wrong with this game. The idea behind the game is flawed. Destiny is great for Destiny... but you can't just see dollar signs and apply it to the successful superhero genre. The hulk should not need artificial upgrades to become 'unstoppable'. That is kinda the definition of the character. It is frustrating that the creation of this game not only kept many other super hero games from being created during this time period - but it also ate up the time of several very talented studios that each could have produced something better than this on their own.
  5. Sure the games will perform better on Xbox, but Spiderman is only on PS5. Sony busy working on getting exclusive rights to Lebron for 2k, Mahomes for Madden, and Sniper Rifle for COD.
  6. That right there is what we need. A dramatic reboot of the office. I want to see the serious version of a day to day paper company documentary.
  7. Based on new information... I retract my previous comments. MS best bet now would be to release the hardware as soon as possible, and make sure they are well under the cost of the ps5. Halo is a big deal. Losing that launch title is going to hurt the Xbox bad.
  8. I get that you are probably... mostly kidding. But this wouldn't work for a console release in 2020. Many (maybe most) people will be buying online - not in store. With the way bots work now very few real people would be able to purchase these if you took away the ability to pre-order. You would end up having a several month period where the only option for regular people would be to pay scalpers huge fees online. For Microsoft especially this would be a death blow. Everyone would just get the PS5 using the normal methods.
  9. Eh, I guess this is a good thread to talk about this because I watched them again about 6 months ago with my kids. The first movie was okay... The next two reminded me of watching star wars ep 1. I just can't take them. The hobbit is a simple story that didn't need three movies. It was just greed to stretch them that thin. Like butter scraped over too much bread.
  10. @Greatoneshere wait... What kind of monster forces someone to watch the extended edition of the hobbit movies?
  11. The review I read said there was a marginal difference in the game between getting punched by the hulk and getting punched by blackwidow. Also breaking open crates to find power ups. Not sure how that works with these heroes.
  12. There are currently a lot of those things. EA Access, Uplay+ etc. My opinion is that there will be lots more of those in the near future - and that will cause a collapse where only a few services survive. I just don't think people will be able to afford endless $15 per month fees. I think in the end only a few large companies will survive. But you could be right and everyone could adjust to each other and live together. Who knows. It will be an interesting few years to see how it shakes out.
  13. Very true. And one of the big things in the refresh will be MORE storage. I have no doubt before the end of this gen we will see a 200GB game. Possibly Starfield could be the first at that size. Not many AAA games are going to fit on the super fast hard drives of either system.
  14. So they are announcing today even more content including cosmetic things like outfits and emotes - plus some challenges that will be timed exclusives for PlayStation. Its kind of comical at this point. Why not just make the game a timed exclusive for PlayStation. That would make more sense. Only fools would pay the same $60 for this on Xbox knowing they are getting a gimped game compared to the other console.
  15. I'm in the same boat as most here. I don't see much software that really gets me excited coming out this year. I will get the hardware day one... mostly because that is just what I do. I will be excited for the shorter load times in current games. I'm not sure what it is - maybe all the talk about load times recently, but sitting through load times recently has felt especially painful. Other than that for the Xbox I think the games I am really excited about are Avowed and Fable, and those probably are not coming out for a couple years. Hell they may be launch games for the mid cycle refresh. Ugh.
  16. There is a difference between a season pass or a subscriptions to some games multiplayer - and what game pass is. Game pass is tons of games - added to several times per month. Yep lots of those are smaller games, but you get a big release game at least once a month. Outside of the three console manufactures and EA I just don't see anyone else being successful doing that. (add steam in there - I wasn't thinking about PC) Yes everyone can and probably will try to pull something off. I just don't think they will succeed doing it. Several of the games you mention are already or were at one time game pass games (Monster Hunter, GTA). My guess is that Avengers will be added to that list by this time next year because it will add tons of new players who will take part in micro transactions and game sales.
  17. Well... I'm out. I was never really in on this game. Kinda on the fence. But i'm an xbox guy so when they start announcing features I won't get it makes my decision easy.
  18. On your first point - I have no idea what MS is paying other companies for their games - but several publishers have said they are seeing 5x sales after getting on game pass. MS probably has people coming to them at this point to get on game pass. For your second point, I'm not sure how many companies can support their own game pass type service. EA for sure and obviously Sony and Nintendo if they had the interest. Who else? I think with TV you will eventually see pull back because not every network is going to be able to get $15 per month from enough people. Next few years will for sure be interesting.
