  1. Came here to say The Ascent. I played through it (and the DLC) last year with no issues.
  2. Darren Waller reveals 'ideal' time for Giants retirement decision he... NYPOST.COM The Giants’ starting tight end has been contemplating retirement since January. He had two really productive seasons, and then has been hurt for half of the last 3. Glad we at least got a 3rd rounder for him.
  3. IMHO, Watch Dog's gameplay was distinct from something like GTA in it's use of tech hacks (many through the use of jumping between cameras) and direct control of drones/spiderbot. I didn't get any of those vibes from last year's Ubisoft Forward trailer.
  4. If this has huge game mechanics around security cameras, and dialogue that is super-sexualized - I’ll be REALLY surprised.
  5. If you like Ubisoft open world games, you’ll probably like this. As someone who loves Ubi’s games, and loves Star Wars…..
  6. The DLC for the big open world Ubi games is normally worth getting -- but not at full price. So the "Gold" edition is usually worth it -- but at a discount. So, if CDKeys gets a ~40% discount prerelease, I will get it then. Otherwise, this one will likely be a Black Friday purchase for me.
  7. I have Focus, heavy attack, use item, interact, heal, and switching between items all mapped to buttons on my mouse. I only use WASD, space, left control for movement on the keyboard -- and I go into the map/menus with the keyboard. Being able to toggle weapons with the scroll wheel is huge in this game.
  8. Given your Budget, I would just pick something on Amazon with a lot of high reviews. The difference between any choice is unlikely to mean much. You could just splurge and buy a Neumann M 149 tube.
  9. Lol. Just pulled out my copy of Heretics of Dune -- my recollection was I had read it in University. Nope. Middle school. Gotta do it.
  10. 37% Federal tax plus state tax (say 8% if you're in NJ) -- so 45% tax. You get 55% of $929 million = $510 million. Simple EV = $510/292.2 = $1.74 minus $2 for the ticket = minus $0.26 per ticket
  11. It's been more than 30 years since I read those books, so my memory is VERY fuzzy. My recollection is very similar to this. Thanks. It makes me want to reread the series.
  12. The fact that they get to lie about the value, call it $1.9 billion, when it's really $929 million is insane. And THEN you get taxed on it AGAIN. [The lottery association profits are essentially a tax on people who are bad at math.]
  13. The real hero of the Dune Hexalogy for me was always Duncan Idaho. Do we really understand what Frank Herbert was trying to say without the ending of Heretics of Dune? (I've never read the novels after #6). I would have to reread the books, but does Dune Messiah even come to a truly satisfactory ending? My favourite take on Dune has been the accusation that it is a "white saviour" story. Which is always a clear indication to me, that they have never read the novels. (or, at the very least, not beyond the first one.)
  14. I know you're joking. But, they don't have the cap space to eat the dead money if they trade him.
  15. The difficult one will be the cinematic version of Children of Dune, and subsequent novels.... It's been over 30 years since I read them, but they go places.
  16. Do they even have the draft capital to trade that high up?
  17. Is Amazon verifying them? No. Is that a brand I've seen as reputable? Yes. Are Your Solar Eclipse Glasses Fake? Here’s How to Check WWW.SCIENTIFICAMERICAN.COM You’re going to want to guard your eyes from the sun using legitimate protective gear I would still validate the brand you've bought, lots of Canadian Tire's are franchises. I've seen people online express concern about the glasses they've seen at CT. They're disposable -- They're a few bucks a piece.
  18. I don't think the Texans are a Super Bowl favourite this year (I would guess they're in the 6-8 range with Diggs). Playoff contender, absolutely. [Particularly in 2024, when they don't get to play a 4th place schedule and beat up on the NFC South.] Stefon Diggs wasn't a top 10 receiver last year, despite being paired with a top 5 QB. You spend draft capital on 1-year rentals of an elite problematic player when you are on the cusp of a championship, not when that contract gives you a 3-4 year window to really go for it. I'm certainly not an expert on the Texans roster, but it sure looks like they are at risk of not having much cap room over the next few years as well.
