  1. Makes sense. My "old-style" leather wallet always felt bulky when I did that, so I didn't do that. I was more concerned about pickpockets when I lived in Brazil, instead of a wallet, I used to put money in my hat or shoe when going to "sketchier" places.
  2. I got a "Decadent Minimalist" titanium wallet on Kickstarter about 7 years ago. I love everything about minimalist wallets, and still get comments on it being cool every few months. Carrying my wallet in my front pocket has done wonders for my back.
  3. Absolutely, that was my experience at a Fortune 500 company. December 2017, signed an extension to my international employee contract -- that guaranteed me 5-years of salary upon my return to Canada, even if there was no appropriate job. December 2018, received a performance review putting me in top 15% of my related work group, they extended my visa for 2 years. March 2019, received 130% of bonus. May 2019. Got made redundant, given 6 weeks to leave the country with none of the typical assistance upon returning. (They had the gall to tell me that I shouldn't have sold the house, that they bought from me.) TLDR; you can't rely on big corporations to treat you as more than a number.
  4. Sorry to hear it. Hope you get back on your feet again soon.
  5. Once every 4 years, millions of people are willing to watch Olympians swim up and down a pool for several days, get excited about it, and then not watch any swimming for another 4 years.
  6. So far this season, the Raiders have had the 3rd easiest SOS, for the remainder of the season they have the 3rd hardest. I'm think 2 more wins this season would be an accomplishment.
  7. Depends on what country you live in. Subbing to magazines printed in the country you live in made sense, otherwise buying at the newsstand could be cheaper.
  8. I think the plug is a poor design. HOWEVER, I also thing the location of the plug on a lot of 4090s is probably just as big an issue, particularly with how I have seen some people bend these cables to fit into cases that aren't quite big enough for them.
  9. There is a group of Raiders media/influencers that keep trying to push the narrative that Aidan O'Connell is the Raiders franchise QB of the future. I get the underdog narrative. He has drastically outperformed his draft status. He seems to be a very competent backup, or potentially a borderline starter. However, I haven't yet seen anything that would make me believe he's going to develop into a playoff-caliber QB.
  10. New Jersey teams (who pretend they are in NY like the Bills) have scored a total of 22 TDs this season. 15 NFL Teams have scored that many TDs.
  11. I’m not used to opponents getting a lot more penalties than the Raiders.
  12. The Giants and Cowboys are 2 of the teams that draw the biggest ratings. Certainly going to have higher ratings than Washington/Seattle (their other game).
  13. I think I understand your perspective. However, the APU on SD, while good for a handheld, is relatively week compared to what is required for new AAA games. I hear more people talk about capping frame rates at 30fps to preserve battery, than I do about people trying to achieve 120fps on this thing. To keep this thing ~$400, they can't do everything.
  14. My original response was to the comment that AMD's VRR laterally required no additional hardware -- when according to Valve's engineers, it does. I think we're in agreement that they could do it if they changed the screen.
  15. Valve told LTT the reason it didn't have VRR was because the display had a MIDI interface, and that MIDI interfaces don't support VRR. Nothing is impossible if you are willing to pay the panel manufacturer extra $$$ to develop/customize something that is different than they are offering you.
