  1. I understand your point better now. I apologize if my reaction was stronger than it should have been.
  2. We need the reviews! Mine: Valentina: Valentina is a "Mexican-style" hot sauce that is fantastic for Tex-Mex foods. It has a very neutral flavour for foods, and does not have a strong distinctive flavour that a Jalapeno or Habanero pepper sauce might have. My typical usage for this sauce is on Tacos -- because it adds what I would consider a stereotypical "Mexican" flavour, without adding very much in the way of heat. Flavour -- 8/10 Heat - 2/10 Overall -- 7/10 "It may not bring the heat, but for Tacos, it is probably just what you are looking for."
  3. 1) Wo gave you the moral judgement to determine what a valid emotional reaction to consuming media is? Why do you think people need to apologize if their view is different than yours? 2) Jeff Canatta is not and never has been a games journalist. 3) He hasn't been callous. 4) There is no moral onus on Jeff, or anybody else to try and ensure that no one is "offended" by anything he says. Very little can be said of any import, that SOMEONE won't find "offensive". [In the current twitter lexicon, it appears to be anything than doesn't 100% conform to someone's preferences/beliefs.] People don't need to apologize for saying things that are kludgy, amateurish and juvenile.
  4. I’m using GoG galaxy as my launcher, which has made less concerned about which storefronts I buy a game from.
  5. My point was that the ships in the movies do not follow the laws of physics. I’m not sure the movies are all that consistent on the exact “physics” and capabilities that each ship has. So, the designers, IMHO, have some creative license in how they balance the gameplay between the two factions. I suspect this will be done in an asymmetric way. Perhaps they will even go so far as assigning points to each ship and giving each squadron a max points per round.
  6. I am sure they will "balance" the ships in some way. I am expecting this game to be somewhat "class-based" -- so it will be interesting to see which advantages/disadvantages they give to each ship. For the record -- IMHO, Star Wars space combat is not "realistic" so I find it really hard to call any game based on it a "sim".
  7. If you own Witcher 3 and all of the DLCs, it will only give you the base game. You need to own the GOTY edition, for it to give you those. edit: Confirmed, when I bought it, I bought the GOTY edition on steam, and it is not giving it to me on GOG.
  8. Jeff compared his reaction to consuming two pieces of media that were both made for profit. That is not insensitive, nor does it need to be apologized for. His comments did not promote hate. His comments did not demean any racial/ethnic group, promote systemic discrimination or minimize an historical event. If he did one of those things, he probably should. But, he didn't.
  9. Well, it must mean it hasn't opened up for me (yet). I have been "trapped" in a relatively small area for most of the game so far. The map that I had suggested there would be four or five other similar areas that would open up as I progressed through the game.
  10. I'm ~5 hours into Witcher 3. What is really shocking to me is how different all 3 games are -- they seem to share very little in game mechanics. They have the same characters, same potions, and signs. But, how they are implemented seems to be completely different in each game. I'm not sure I have ever seen a franchise vary this much from game-to-game. I am enjoying it so far, but my biggest surprise was that the game isn't an open world game. Still way too early to have any good thoughts/impressions on the gameplay.
  11. It is up for pre-order now on the Epic Game Store, Origin and Steam. It will reportedly have cross-play support between all platforms.
  12. Faster storage can equal better gameplay. Am I the only one who remembers the problems cause by loading on the PSX version of Shang Tsung in MK3 vs. the arcade? Pausing gameplay every time he switched characters? Developers will have more freedom in UI (think what used to be called "pause menus") -- many games have had them "slimmed down" because the game needs to keep everything in memory -- these new architectures should reduce this requirement. Better customization visualization in games. The ability to more quickly stream in textures/geometry will allow customization options to happen more quickly, and in a much more visual way. More variation in NPCs/vehicles in open world games (remember in GTA, how you kept seeing the same cars as you drove around)? Better level design -- less of a need to have doors/walls that are only there to enable loading. I am sure the guys who are actually designing games have a long list of headaches they have had to deal with in the past, that will no longer exist that go well beyond this.
  13. I’m really excited about this now. Everything they are saying make it sound like this is exactly the kind of experience I was hoping for. We’ll find out on Thursday.
  14. Jeff Cannata is a genuinely decent guy, as anyone who listens to him on the DLC pdcast can attest to. IMHO, his analogy was perfectly clear. #teamjeff
  15. Today's trailer was cinematic only. Geoff Keighley confirmed it will be 1 first person cockpit view game, with 5v5 multiplayer and a single player campaign. PS4/XB1/PC -- No SeX/PS5 versions October 2nd for $39.99 Edit: Gameplay at the EA event on Thursday. Edit: It will take place shortly after RotJ.
