  1. Two pieces of advice to enjoy the game more: 1) Listen to all of the audiologs I normally hate audio logs, and I think they are a lazy story-telling mechanism. However, so much of the story/context is told here, you will miss most of what makes the story interesting if you skip them. 2) Experiment with Weapons The combat is different in H:ZD than most other games. What works in one situation will fail miserably in another. Each different enemy requires a different strategy, and combination of weapons (yes, plural) and ammo. IMHO, the combat shines the most in "The Frozen Wilds" DLC. (Which I recommend playing as part of a normal playthrough.)
  2. I primarily use a monitor: An ACER XB271HU -- 144Hz 1440p (I have it overclocked to 160Hz) However, the TV my consoles are presently hooked up to is: Pioneer Elite 50" Kuro Plasma -- Pro-110FD
  3. Watching this trailer again this morning at 1440p, was a much better experience than the overly compressed 1080p experience yesterday. It looks much more impressive than I originally thought.
  4. It sounds like this game is more divisive than the review score would suggest. While the majority of reviewers seem to love the game, there is a small minority (primarily critics at large sites that don't score their reviews) who found the games brutality overwhelming, and didn't find the story as compelling as the majority. Kotaku: The Last of Us Part 2: The Kotaku Review Arstechnica: The Last of Us Part 2 review: A less confident, less focused sequel Vice: 'The Last of Us Part II' Is a Grim and Bloody Spectacle, but a Poor Sequel Polygon: The Last of Us Part 2 review: We’re better than this Again, this game is getting overwhelmingly positive reviews. However, I think I will give this game a pass -- at least until we get to a place where I am in a better frame of mind (and I can play a game without my kids/wife walking in mid-way through).
  5. Given the amount of compression on my stream, it was hard for me to judge. I'll agree with you on Athia. However, if you want to show off your next-gen console, you need, IMHO to have a lot of AAA 3rd party games. And those were notably absent. Nothing from Activision, EA or Ubi.
  6. Sony is out of the way, a solid 7/10 for me.... Saturday is busy Guerilla Collective (Incl. Baldur's Gate 2) at Noon PC Gaming Show at 2pm Future Games Show at 4pm I wonder if anyone can bring back that e3 feeling?

  8. Thoughts: -- Very little announced for 2020 -- Too many smaller announcements, not enough big ones. -- Console is fugly as hell -- I didn't see enough to convince me that I need to get this console at launch They need to do more between now and launch to build hype.
