THE MENU 3.75/5 I’m still processing the overall message and I like the movie the more I think about it. The idea is cool and bonkers, yet it works. Ralph Fiennes can do no wrong for me it seems in any role he takes, and was robbed for Budapest Hotel. Sinks his literal teeth into the role and the Atmos track on the Disney+ stream was active. I’ve watched other Atmos tracks that weren’t as consistently active with action. Wont spoil anything and just recommend you watch the movie. I believe this was also written by some staff members that use to report on comingsoon.net as their first feature. I hope we see more creative menu options from them again.

I admit I don’t really buy games for my Series X because of gamepass. I buy for my PS5 and Switch, but I really have no need to buy from Microsoft anymore. It’s nice for the convenience but I worry that in general that physical media is disappearing. I love having the “hard copy” available but I have been on the receiving end a couple times up North here with digital movies disappearing from my collection. Hell one company even folded but I was thankfully able to transfer them all (but a couple) over to my Google TV/Movies account for free. Still I don’t like seeing stuff I own, disappear without me being told first. Would hate to see that trend over to all games, but we know that it’s probably not that far off either

This looks great and scary. Plus I liked the use of the practical effects ghosts mixed in there with the CGI ones -

I haven’t watched Rise of Gru yet, but overall I’m a fan of the series. How long we can keep milking it I just hope they get a 3D disc release somewhere, because they always have some of the best pop out moments and overall 3d presentation. Like Dreamworks animation when they were at their best -
I watched this a couple months back with my mom. It has some cool action, beautiful locations and a nice send off. Still we both thought the movie felt bloated and too long. Casino Royale and Skyfall being my favs. Spectre gets better with more viewings, again just a bit long but better story. I’m very so-so on Quantum and this one, because they could of been tighter/better flicks

I watched the first 2 episodes last night. Holy shit that opening battle felt like one giant “Coming this XMas” toy ad with the characters introduced. Melissa Benoist is a nice replacement for Buffy, and voice suits her look better. Liked the action and sadly it just looks like a 5 episode season. Oh and I watch on Golden Tiger x Panama and it was amazing

AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER 3D 3/5 Thank God that Disney was kind enough to give us 3D fans/users a physical 3D disc release to purchase. Watched tonight on my projector at 106” and was your 3D was the main attraction of the film. I love James Cameron and what he has given us story wise over the years of his career, along with his visual eye for film too. Sadly I find his Avatar films a little generic but are a must see if you have a 3D set to take advantage of. It looks stunning from seaweed and tree foliage appearing out of the screen in front of our characters. Pretty cool seeing characters running at you with heated flying bullets shooting out beyond them hitting you. Plot wise, I pretty much saw who would probably die/saved for future film plots. I liked the chemistry of the family and the underwater scenes looked amazing. This probably looks good with 4K/HDR on a good set as well, but I see why some waited to see these movies in theatres 3D wise. Well, from personal experience while working during the first films theatrical release. Also wanna say that they have thankfully improved the audio on their disc releases but still want deeper LFE action. If you remember the first blu-ray release of Finding Nemo and its whale sounds on that disc. I want that deep fucking rattle the basement foundation sub action again. We have tons of “whales” in this film, but never reach that rattle the house to the ground sub action. Anyways, I’m game for the third movie and I hope I get some sort of 3D release/stream for that as well

FUCK YES!!! We know he’s doing this because of the election more than anything. I hope he can once again set some people back on the right path. Even if it’s once a week, I’m fine with that. Come closer to the election, he will be more “daily” once again I’m sure. Jordan Klepper or Roy Wood Jr. were the only staff members I saw taking over the hosting. Although I prefer Klepper and his Trump rally appearances and the way he makes these people look “dumber” High task I know, but he has a lot of Stewart in him too

My mom kept me and sisters home from school during the last complete solar eclipse (some 30 years ago) It was great because I didn’t have to perform at the school play (all have stage fright) and my grandparents were in town. Last year the Toronto news were talking about this upcoming eclipse and possibility of keeping kids home that day. Said they want them educated but safe and thought special events would pop up for people to take in the event.

ONWARDS 3D 3/5 Well with 3d discs drying up everywhere, I decided to splurge before Xmas and grab a couple cheaper 3d films from overseas in the UK (plus they had Bluey books for my nieces) Anyways onto the movie itself, it’s a pretty heavy adult subject matter. Sadly a few character moments touched pretty close to myself and with my dad’s passing. So I admit I might have had a good eye sweat going a few times. Movie has some chuckles but not nearly the laughs of past Pixar films. The animation as always looks amazing and the 3D added some wonderful added dimension and tremendous depth. (especially the bridge crossing scene) Sadly like most Disney discs, the soundtrack is pretty neutered in the bass/volume department, but great use of surrounds. So not their best Pixar films but it has just enough heartwarming moments that still worked for me. Not a movie I really think I would want to watch with my kids (if I had any) until I think they’re ready to talk about death.
