Beyond Outrage: 7/10
If you thought outrage could be contained in one movie you would be mistaken. Beyond Outrage takes place five years after the events of the first movie (spoilers). Kato, the guy who took over, has turned the Yakuza capitalist, not everyone is thrilled with it but they are making money. The detective from the first movie, Kataoka, plays a bigger role in this movie and is kind of pulling the strings behind the scenes. Meanwhile, Otomo rumored to be dead from the first movie, is alive and in prison. But the detective arranges for him to only serve half his sentence which sparks another gang war, but in this case mostly his old clan is worried about him so they're out to get him.
In comparison to the first movie it's less of a Yakuza simulator and more of a revenge style type movie. So while the first movie was a bit too stiff this one feels a little bit looser and enjoyable even if it maybe isn't as good as the first movie. If you saw the first one you're definitely going to want to conclude the Outrage saga by seeing this one.
