  1. Yeah that's not great. I will say I think the cast was probably a bit too big, especially for lower episode counts, but... still sucks.
  2. The audience gets mad when the hits don't get played...
  3. Alright, I know this shit has spiraled a bit, but here's the deal. Continuing to speculate about or shit talk about another poster's sexuality isn't going to fly, full stop. So @best3444 consider this a warning to knock it off going forward. Broadly speaking, if there's someone here that you keep unblocked for easy dunks and lulz, my recommendation is to either put that person on ignore or exercise some discipline about interacting with them, regardless of whether or not they're on this board or that board or whatever. Poking fun at how we all post is like 90% of the content here, so that's fine generally speaking. But dogpiling gets old, especially after the person, whoever they may be ITT or elsewhere, has generally left the conversation.
  4. Reddit is an island too, it's just a bigger one. And there are "replacements" in the wings, it's just shit like TikTok. Why would someone want to have to google something like "Tears of the Kingdom dupe glitch" when a TikTok search will get them the exact answer in video, with subtitles, and direct instructions? For something like a deeper dive, a YouTube search is likely going to be just as if not more productive and informative. I think people like us who have been online for decades underestimate the amount of learned knowledge it takes to even google effectively these days, or assume that the majority of modern people online are looking to interact with likeminded strangers. Discoverability and such are inherently MUCH worse on a place like Reddit compared to something like TikTok or even Instagram. That's not to say that Reddit is universally bad or anything, there are some subreddits that are useful, moderated, and helpful. But Reddit as an experience just fucking sucks. It doesn't matter what app you use, if you're new to the game, if what you're looking for isn't in an OP or the top response, it's absolutely fucking brutal to use; people in the system are just conditioned to it and invested to the point where all the alternatives seem worse.
  5. This looks pretty good, Jedi Survivor was very good... now we just need David Cage to splash down big turd in the punchbowl.
  6. Look. I want Bethesda to get better. But they always increase the size of their canvas without figuring out better ways to fill the space. And this is despite games like Skyrim and the Fallouts having FEWER skills, options, etc., than older games. The combat will not be good, the NPCs will generally be uninteresting, and the stuff is only going to kind of barely come together. This is just who they are. They have no incentive to change this stuff. They've released Skyrim one billion times and it's still this game: I wonder if this guy's a vampire! You're not supposed to know he is, but ever since Dawnguard, vamps on the DL just... look like this and nobody notices! Who's more stupid, this guy for not realizing Maven is behind him, or Maven for not giving a shit at all? The spaceships look rad, the vibes look good, and some of the critter design is genuinely better than I'd expected! But we know what we're going to get from BGS at this point, and good combat / interesting NPCs ain't on the menu.
  7. Tumblr, Reddit, Twitter, Twitch, Twitter… all these companies inevitably shoot themselves in the dick. They’re so fucking dumb.
  8. Again, we know they are not going to pull off awesome FPS gameplay. It's not in their DNA. I know this is a sizzle reel and not exactly how the game is gonna get up, but dudes in this trailer get straight up shot in the face and don't react until they die other than the usual Bethesda grunts and twitches.
  9. Same-y looking corridors, milquetoast combat, and forgettable NPCs have been part of the Beth loop since Morrowind; this is just what they do. For me it's mostly about whether or not the vibes hit. I still love Skyrim even though it's... just fine. Fallout 3 I really liked. Fallout 4? I dunno, I think they took big swings and whiffed on most of them. It's not a "bad game" it's just consistently not interesting and as they scaled up, stuff like their radiant quest system needed to do more heavy lifting, and that stuff WAS bad. So I dunno how they go from that to a game that is significantly larger and NOT fill the gaps with fluff. I'm sure I'll find my fun here as I always do in Beth games, but it's wild to see how far open world games and the characters that inhabit them have come since Fallout 4 and Skyrim, and to see Beth just keep on truckin.
  10. As I've said many many times, if anyone finds themselves overburdened by time, money, and space in their home... miniature wargaming and painting effectively cures all three problems immediately! I will say, if you're looking to get into painting, the most important things to keep in mind as a beginner are... 1) ANY paint job is gonna look better than naked plastic. Especially when you're starting out and stuff isn't going to look "great," even a prime and a base coat of the main colors will look so much better than plain, assembled minis. 2) Remember that you're going to spend 99% of your time playing with the minis at a distance... any of the "flaws" you notice when you've got the thing inches away from your face will simply not be noticeable when you have an army on the table 3) Try to keep in mind that if you follow tutorials on youtube and stuff, a lot of those people have been painting for years and even if you've got the same paint, brushes, and tools, it's very easy to not get results like they do 4) Thin your paints! This isn't an issue if you're using Contrast Paint, Speedpaint, Instant Paints, Xpress Color, etc., since you don't really need to do that with those. But "normal" paints, yeah, you gotta do that. Different paints have different consistencies and it can be tough to know how thin to go and how thin you CAN go before the pigment "breaks" and you've got a watery mess more suited for glazing or washing But if you wanna get started with Legion or Shatterpoint painting, Sorastro's tutorials on youtube are a decent place to start! I plan on painting Shatterpoint once I finish off Clan Wren from Legion, so hopefully later this week.
  11. This is all very true and the companions look like the Bethesda automatons they were always destined to be, but this is kind of a goofy question... People very obviously want "this stuff." Companions are some of the most popular mods in games like this, and as time goes on and the gameplay of stuff like Mass Effect has been passed by, the relationships remain very popular. No, Bethesda does not do this stuff well and they never have. But it's clearly giving the people what they want or at least an attempt to.
