  1. Delay it until the trilogy doesn’t end with choices between a dry fart, a wet fart, a silent but deadly fart, and fart that puts you at risk of rectal prolapse.
  2. The camera in GOW is generally fine but occasionally VERY bad. One, maybe two of the Valkyrie fights in particular were made needlessly difficult (on the hardest difficulty at least) only because the camera angle was poor. Some of the flying enemies were pretty bad to manage the camera against as well. I appreciate that the game hided loading times behind the sometimes very entertaining / always very well acted storytime sequences... but there’s a LOT of downtime in the game because of it. I don’t know that it ever really earned its openness... I don’t think it hurt the game overall but I dunno that it was necessarily better for it, either. For a game where most of the hook is the fighting, I felt like an awful lot of the combat upgrades just weren’t that useful or compelling. Also for a game where the main thing stopping the protagonists completing what would otherwise be a somewhat leisurely journey is the combat... we’re never really given a compelling reason for why anyone is fucking with Kratos at all? We learn who Baldur was looking for at the start, but that doesn’t really explain why almost everyone and everything else tries to kill them on sight. All that said, I’ll fire it up on the PS5 to poke around with the updates, I don’t think I ever did a NG+ run.
  3. Won’t SOMEONE think of the stonks? EDIT - in addition to the extent to which many of these drugs are funded from public money, there’s also an extent to which many of the people working at these places don’t own a piece of the company, their bonus incentives aren’t tied to things like “breakthroughs” because they rarely happen, etc. I’m not opposed to people / companies making money off this stuff (it’s my industry, by and large ), but anyone who goes, “our IP tho,” when considering how quickly we can make the only preventative measure for a pandemic should be shown the door, first from their company, and then potentially from this mortal coil.
  4. Imagine paying tens of millions of dollars on an apartment and not knowing whether or not construction is going to be done by your move in day. How fucking stupid are these people? And then being all, “I paid for a luxury experience, then i had to stand next to a man in a hard hat.”
  5. Find whatever motherfuckers think people wont innovate if not motivated by money, when said innovation is helping to stop a pandemic, and walk them into the sea at gunpoint.
  6. It’s almost like billionaires had one good idea, or possess one marketable skill, and are otherwise tremendous marks, rubes, and morons. Wind make building in sky move? NO WAY.
  7. Maybe they can patch out all the bloated “open” sections, the flashbacks, and bullshit storytelling false flags, and focus on the 5 hours of legitimately good gameplay? Now THAT would be a remaster!
  8. All I remember of this series from the GameCube era that made it different from Madden was viable option plays and marching band music.
  9. People still do. Don’t underestimate the outsize impact that the misogynist perpetual motion machine warps the narrative around her.
  10. I didn’t play any of the ME games until the update to 3 was released; the ending was still terrible.
  11. I dunno, I don’t think they’ve suddenly become bad games or anything. I just don’t think the shooting was ever that great to begin with in any of them, there’s a lot of filler in ME1 and ME2 specifically. And I feel like game design has, in general, moved past what drove a lot of the stuff in ME2 and ME3, where there’s just straight up, very obvious, if X then Y, character specific quests. I remember the loyalty missions specifically feeling very much like a grocery list, and the same way with whatever the “good ending meter” for ME3 was. Long winded way of saying that I’d wager that for most people, the gameplay isn’t what is most compelling about Mass Effect, and there’s a lot of gameplay that just isn’t especially interesting to go through to get to the good bits. But maybe I’m way off base, who knows.
  12. I’m still going through Hitman 2 before I start up Hitman 3... for no reason because Hitman 3 has all the content. I don’t know what’s wrong with me.
  13. I’m far away enough from retirement and invest consistently enough that no, I man not worried.
  14. It is interesting to see gun owner risk mitigation logic applied at a planetary level.
  15. I wanna get to Mars as well, but it's a fucking dumb carrot to dangle when it's not clear what specific license issue is being discussed. Musk has zero credibility when it comes to procedural or regulatory issues kneecapping him, from my POV.
  16. Hot Ones Classic Garlic Fresno is really good. Both Los Calientes flavors are excellent as well.
  17. I didn't take pictures of it... either because I was too hungry or because best shattered my self-esteem... but I made Hainanese chicken rice yesterday and it was excellent. I took a bunch of the excess skin, crisped it up and cooked it with the rice for some extra kick. Also served the poaching liquid that was left over chicken soup style and it was great.
