I didn't take pictures of it... either because I was too hungry or because best shattered my self-esteem... but I made Hainanese chicken rice yesterday and it was excellent. I took a bunch of the excess skin, crisped it up and cooked it with the rice for some extra kick. Also served the poaching liquid that was left over chicken soup style and it was great.

This is what I mean, though. I’ve literally never encountered a vegan being preachy IRL. I have seen plenty of people eye roll at vegans when we order takeout or something and they ask if we can order from a place that has more than one vegan thing on the menu, or heard people tell them that humans only evolved the way we did because we eat meat, etc. I know it’s sampling randomness, it’s just funny to me to have literally never encountered the thing that people complain about and have only encountered people complaining about THAT.

I will never understand people who are exhausted by vegans. I’ve heard more about paleo and ketosis in the last several years than I have about being vegan in the entirety of my life and I’m married into a family with several vegans. If we’re going to get conspiratorial I’d say it’s much more likely that starting to clamp down on misinformation was due to fear that a Democratic POTUS, Senate, and House would impose regulations on them so they started self-policing.
