  1. People overestimate the appeal of stuff they’re into and downplay the appeal of stuff they are not, it’s just human nature. I wouldn’t recognize a single character from WoW, League, or Dota, but those characters are wildly popular. Mega Man is kinda of a good example of this, in that I don’t think it’s likely that people who don’t play games or live with someone who does would have a clue about who he is... there are only 6 Mega Man games in Capcom’s best selling 100 games, Lost Planet Extreme Edition sold better than Mega Man 2.
  2. Aah, whatever I typed for old got autocorrected to good somehow. I think I played sigma / whatever version came to the PS3 and liked it, but I had kinds burned out on character action games at that point, if I remember right, and never played any of the other ones.
  3. Oh so these are the games from the Xbox era and onwards, and not the good ones from the arcade / NES. Hmm.
  4. I like Skyward Sword a lot, but the entire game is a giant pacing problem.
  5. Dumb question... do hardware stores near you sell stuff like ice melt / salt, snow shovels, etc.? Could you buy winter tires locally if you wanted to? I assume you know this, but pex can burst when it’s frozen too, and even if it doesn’t, it loses some of its integrity when it freezes / thaws repeatedly. More relevant up here than by you usually, but I know some New Englanders who assumed pex meant they didn’t need to insulate and it was an expensive mistake.
  6. I suppose Rush invented talk radio the same way Elvis invented rock and roll, which is to say he did not.
  7. Never forget, and feel good shooting your shots. EDIT - I know this has become my thing lately... but don’t hate listen, don’t hate watch, don’t hate follow, don’t hate screencap and retweet, and don’t hate re-post fucking ghouls. You’re just putting money in their pockets.
  8. I feel like Odyssey had more to do in-location and was more interesting to get to locations. I know that’s a “other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play,” kinda statement... but I think Valhalla did everything other than that better. I honestly could not tell you a single plot beat from Odyseey other than how the game starts and ends, while I feel like Valhalla did a much better job with that. Also as Wade said... Kassandra > every other Ass protagonist other than Ezio.
  9. If you haven’t shit on a Japanese toilet can you say that you’ve truly lived?
  10. I’m pretty sure that in all tests, winter tires are much more effective at controlling / stopping your vehicle than AWD; a FWD car with winter tires is going to handle much better than a car with AWD on all seasons. Obviously it’s somewhat condition dependent but at some temperatures non-winter tires freeze to the point that AWD just doesn’t matter... when all 4 of your tires have no traction, the AWD achieves nothing. Not a call out on you or anything, but I know so many people who think that AWD is a license to drive in the winter like it’s not winter, and that just isn’t the case. Or I know people who will spend a couple thousand more bucks on a vehicle with AWD because they live up here, when spending a few hundred bucks on winter tires would be both safer and more cost effective.
  11. RE5 was a good game and generally pretty well received, unless I’m remembering things wrong?
  12. Some people have two sets of tires, I have two whole wheel sets because my car is sporty and the tires are sport tires. When it gets cold enough it’s basically like driving around on rocks, all the AWD and keeping the car in second gear won’t do shit. So for me it’s the difference between being able to drive in the winter at all or not. So yeah leading into the winter I have the winter tires / wheels put on, and leading into spring I have the sport tires / wheels put on. edit - in terms of a rationale: https://www.motortrend.com/news/are-snow-and-winter-tires-worth-it/ So yeah not worth it for the once in a five year event like Texas is having now, but in New England it’s worth it.
  13. Batman v Superman is a “if you don’t watch it you’ll enjoy it” type of movie.
  14. Or it could be that Snyder just copied something without accounting for context, which is a significant part of his brand
