  1. These people have always been fucking deranged, but that last one is a great use of Cameo.
  2. Why do we spend so much time and energy debating whether or not superhero movies or videogames are art, when art has obviously just peaked?
  3. He’s not wrong. But I think a lot of this comes down to instant access and algorithms. If Netflix starts to think you like a specific kind of movie you have to actively work to resist that. I don’t think it’s conceptually different than mainly sticking to the action section in a movie rental place back in the day, it’s just borderline weaponized because of the instant feedback you get while watching. Honest question though, is anyone out there saying stuff like Doctor Strange, TDK, or Logan are art films? Outside of stan culture I mean, that’s candy land over there.
  4. I love bad tattoos. One of my favorites on a friend of a friend who has full sleeves and a chest piece is one that just says “Rip it!” that he gave himself while he was drunk. Don’t get me wrong, I love a well done tattoo also.
  5. This is true, I think it was my dad that told me a story of when he was working at a Catholic run healthcare plan near Philly that went out of its way to hire people who historically didn’t have access to office jobs. They relaxed the dress code to allow women to wear sleeveless / cold shoulder style tops. A woman came into work and had to be sent home because her upper arm had a tattoo of a naked woman finger blasting herself; her point was that the policy allowed for sleeveless shirts. So I dunno where the middle ground is, since I think @sblfilms is correct which I am sure I don’t need to tell either of you. The platonic ideal for me is probably closer to finger blast tattoo than business casual tho
  6. Dress codes reinforce heteronormative, misogynist, and white norms and should be abolished for elected officials and in all cases except ones that serve a safety function.
  7. Also the VA’s budget for 2022 is > $200B, the proposal for 2023 is > $300B. He’s just straight up one of the dumbest motherfuckers alive.
  8. 10GB of RAM? What is this peasant shit. @Mr.Vic20
  9. There's only one way to find out! Kidding aside, here's a video where other people try it and fail. You can see her take her ring off before she does the squeeze for the reason I mentioned.
  10. The reason that *most* people can squeeze an egg very hard and not break it is because you're applying a relatively equal amount of pressure in all directions simultaneously, combined with the shape of the egg which provides the greatest amount of strength at the the "ends." If you're wearing a ring while you attempt this (the guy who couldn't break the egg was not, the guy who shattered the egg was), much more force is being applied to the very small area where the ring is making contact with the egg. If you squeeze an egg while wearing a ring, you're basically replicating how we deliberately crack an egg for cooking; taking a very small area of the egg and applying pressure to it with something else "small." I said *most* because it's possible someone could grip the egg in such a way that you're not applying relatively evenly distributed pressure, or maybe have really large or really small hands that would basically accomplish the same thing; lots of pressure in a small area as opposed to equal pressure across most of the egg.
  11. He shouldn’t have been wearing a ring, lol
  12. I’m pushing 42, still have a full head of almost all brown hair, though I have some greys everywhere on my body, and I don’t need glasses yet. The hearing in my right ear is absolutely trash though, which is generally annoying except when I want to fall asleep and I can just lay on my left ear. The brain is really wild at compensating for this; if I’m wearing headphones, I do not notice that my right side is bad unless I lift up the headphones off one ear at the time and do 1 to 1 comparisons. It’s super obvious when I do that, but as soon as I go back to having both sides on normally, the compensation kicks in and it feels like I’m hearing things from both sides equally. The craziest part is that if it’s a song I know well and there’s part of the mix that’s on the right speaker only, I’ll still hear it clearly if I’m wearing headphones normally, even though if I take the left headphone off and listen with the right side only, I cannot hear that vocal / instrument / whatever at all. My brain just plays it for me even though my right ear cannot actually hear it.
  13. Ooooooh right, I forgot that Phoenix retcon. Hal Jordan reading those issues like:
