  1. I don’t really understand why these companies even bother with these secret behind the screens demos. If you have gameplay to show certain people, just show it to everyone. Now people are stuck reading these cryptic, It kinda looks great but also we think it’s gonna suck articles. I’d think developers should have less faith in gaming “insiders” than they do the general public to see footage and judge for themselves.
  2. I’m sure Jason Scheirer will have a write up about this. Definitely very sad seeing how young he is.
  3. So we will be able to play all these X-Enhanced old Xbox games in 8k next year!
  4. Wasnt Too Human like illegal to sell or distribute anymore because of the Epic lawsuit? Giving it away for free, they must have Dennis Dyack working on something new.
  5. Good points. I guess my mind went straight to Xbox's BC with 360 games, and being able to play those games regardless of platforms with each other, because you were essentially playing the same 360 games regardless of hardware. With BC on the PS5 and Scarlett, I do hope that rather than getting a PS4/XB1 version of games, then a remaster version on PS5/Scarlett, we just buy one that that then upscales and takes advantage of the new power in the new consoles. Not sure if that can be expected with the technology, but I just kind of assumed thats the direction these console makers are taking. With how much money the studios probably made on Remasters though this gen, not sure if we can count on that.
  6. I mean if you’re playing the same game why wouldn’t you be able to play together? Seems pretty obvious.
  7. Possibly. R6 Siege has a pretty good system in place, where they add more characters and you can buy them with in game currency or $. Then they also have a season pass that unlocks characters automatically and gives you a few other perks like extra in game currency per match, discounts on skins, ect. There are a lot of very successful models out there now with a mix of using in game currency or $. I hope MS goes that direction.
  8. Good point. But they could have a basic F2P version with characters locked that you need to buy with in game currency, and the Game Pass or Retail version has all characters unlocked. But yeah, I tend to agree that with Gamepass chances of MS trying straight F2P games is probably non existent.
  9. With Microsoft’s big “Single player story heavy” games problem, I think most were happy to see they bought Ninja Theory, a company known for pretty good single player experiences. Maybe they leaked this on purpose to get any potential disappointment out now. I know Ninja Theory is said to be working on multiple projects, but doubt many expected something like this from them.
  10. I completely understand this point, and generally get annoyed when people complain about "Not enough content" after playing said game for 100+ hours a few weeks after it released. Of course you're gonna burn through the game and its gonna get repetitive. Its why I can't get too mad at Anthem, I put a solid 50-100 hours in it in a few weeks, and then kinda did all it had to offer, and took a break. Now of course we expect the developers to keep adding and fleshing out the experience as it goes. I think the main reason a game like Division fell off for me way quicker this time around, was that the content that is there, while plentiful, just all plays out identically essentially. I know I've said it before, but every single enemy faction feels identical to me. I have a hard time telling you which is which because honestly every interaction with them feels damn near identical. Therefore every mission and encounter basically feels identical. There is such little variety that it just feels old and samesy much quicker. Every activity plays out the same with "Defeat 3 waves of enemies". The skills in the game were a big let down as they leave little room for build variety as there are basically some must haves, and others that felt really useless. The skills just didn't feel fun or special in anyway. The original Destiny, while having much less content, at least fighting the Vex felt different than fighting the Fallen, which felt different than fighting the Hive, which felt different than fighting the Cabal. The encounters and variety of gameplay at least day to day from doing various missions felt different enough, and the gameplay being more mobile, just provided a more exciting gameplay loop. Division having to base everyone in reality, leaves them with little freedom to make really fun and unique enemy types. The cover to cover gameplay style just isn't exciting enough to really make the gameplay feel fun enough to go through those same encounters over and over. The first Division I played a TON of, but that was cause the Dark Zone, and having fun chasing down and fighting rogues. I know thats here again, but I just didnt feel like investing the time again to really figure out min/maxing for PvP, especially knowing the history of how much each patch ruins builds. Division 2 is a great game for sure, but this time around I just couldn't get into it like I do most games this type.
  11. I didn’t look that far down yet as I’m only on my phone. I apologize for not giving a warning .
  12. Phil Spencer being promoted to an executive VP in Microsoft and now being a part of the leadership team in Microsoft has been enough of a win for MS this gen. They are taking gaming more seriously. If Phil wasn’t doing a good job doubt that would’ve happened.
  13. Portable Xbox like Switch using xCloud or whatever it’s called? Inviting Nintendo cause Gamepass on Switch?
  14. Did Gamestop buy up competitors years ago, like EB Games? Thats the only real reason I could see why they have so many damned locations. Inherited all those locations that may have been tied to 10-20 year leases, and are stuck really until the leases are up.
  15. I had no idea this was a thing, but damn did this get me excited. So many memories of my first real PC Online 56k modem PvP gaming. Getting disconnected from matches cause my mom would pick up the phone. Red Alert 2 was really the pinnacle for me, but damn those original games were my first real dive into PC gaming. Pumped that they are taking this franchise seriously again and bringing ti back. **If this was posted somewhere in the past, feel free to merge them. I have no idea when they announced it was coming back. https://www.ea.com/news/details-command-and-conquer-remastered?utm_campaign=ea_hd_ww_ic_ic_twt_cncremaster-11142018-tw&utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&cid=53477&ts=1559763147875
  16. Okay.... I'm starting to get a bit hyped.... Invited something new? Just the new console? Something else?
  17. My guess is most of Microsoft's new studio acquisitions projects will essentially all be slated for Next Gen releases. I've never been a big fan of the Fable franchise. 1st one I thought was okay, but the 2nd I felt was terrible. Never put much time into the 3rd. They were always just too easy and childish for me. I hope this reboot turns it into more of an Epic feeling open world RPG, something that feels close to The Witcher. And really all we've seen from Playground Games is the Forza Horizon games, so I'm REALLY curious to see how they do on a new genre. Kind of like no one knew what to expect when the Killzone guys were making an open world 3rd person action adventure game.... I really hope Playground knocks it out of the park.
  18. Does Sony still get DLC early? Thats the only hiccup I could see with it. You get Sony exclusive weapons and stuff still right? Or is it just Strikes and maps?
