I mean, Mario Kart 8 did sell like 8.5m copies on the Wii U. Sure, nowhere near 60m copies it's sold in the Switch, but I don't think Nintendo considers 8.5m sold for any of their games not a success. That's kind of the thing with Nintendo. More than most other publishers, they do a great job keeping their expectations in check and budgeting accordingly. I wish Nintendo shared game budgets. I'd love to know how much a big JRPG like Xenoblade Chronicles cost to make.

None of these characters are the problem. Sony not caring about the properties and tossing them over the least creative writers that can reliably throw a script together over a single weekend, quality be damned, is the problem.

I wonder if Nintendo would go hardware lock or software lock on Switch 2 games inserted into a Switch. By hardware lock, I mean what they did with the 3DS where there was that small extra tab of plastic to keep them from being physically inserted into a DS. It's either that or go with GBC route and just cough up an error message when you try to load up the game on older hardware.

Yeah, but it was initially announced as having a story-rich campaign mode that could be tackled single player or co-op. That's a game I've wanted for decades. I don't think a game has really scratched that itch for me since the like Pirates remake 20 whole years ago. Really trying to figure out why anyone that wants a live service pirate game would choose this over Sea of Thieves.

The price is only getting jacked up when you compare Funimation's $6/mo to Crunchyroll's $8/mo. It is, however, a bullshit move to imply folks have to migrate to the $10/mo plan. The $10/mo plan is the family plan with 4 concurrent streams and offline downloads. If you don't need either of those, it's really a $2/mo increase and Crunchyroll bumped prices up to that several years ago.

Aside from just gaming, doesn't Disney also use Unreal Engine for a bunch of their stuff? At the very minimum, I know they use UE on their LED stages over at ILM.

Isn't this the shooting where the school was worried about this kid day dreaming about shooting up the school, but the parents refused to dismiss the kid, refused to get help for the kid, and didn't tell the school they had just gifted the child a gun? If I'm remembering it right, good. There has to come a point where negligence becomes criminal. This wouldn't be a case of "I didn't know little Timmy knew the combination to the gun safe". This is "Hey, my child says the dark corners of the room talk to him, maybe a gun will make him feel better".

Glad people are still enjoying some good 90s mecha. I managed to grab one of these back in December before they started being harder to find.

Yeah, I have a poster of him with a bunch of other older robots like Astroboy and Gigantor hanging in my office that I nabbed in an Artist Alley over at Anime Boston years back. I might try this out. I do have a toy of his bookmarked over at Big Bad Toys. Instead I blew this month's toy budget on a Voltes V and SDF-01 from Macross Do You Remember Love.

Anyone else actually play these? I don't know how much I'd call this a remake. Most of the puzzles are new. This much is a little disappointing. I know the game has to be designed around TV play, so it couldn't have any of the very cool puzzles that involved holding the DS in your hands, but the puzzles still weren't nearly as creative. I still enjoyed my time with the game. Took me about 12 hours to get through both stories. I've got to ask, though. Who thought the default camera speed was the best choice? I almost quit the game early on until I saw you could change the camera speed in the menu.
