  1. Don't worry it will Elephant dicks or something else, next. Chuds of all races and cultures are going to chud, and no animals larger than humans are safe.
  2. *Texas overturns all congressional elections of Democrats in state in 2022* "Sir, you said that you were overturning the results because someone saw a vehicle with a "Gore/Lieberman" bumper sticker driving near a polling station?" "Yes that's right, we believe they electronically and wirelessly tampered with the vote. We can only assume they did this everywhere in the state, so we are overturning all Democratic victories." "What about the video evidence from three angles of Republican goons physically tampering with ballot boxes and replacing actual votes with papers written with crayon?" "Well, boys will be boys, we have to assume it was an honest mistake." And then about about 42% of the country will agree with this, 48% will disagree, and 10% will be too dumb to form an opinion, and nothing will happen to stop them.
  3. Oh wow, what a surprise. You give people total power over other people for decades and also make it clear that there are no consequences for abuse of that power...and people are surprised they are abusing it? Cops, border agents, politicians, etc.
  4. So this year the flu shots (provided by government) are being held in my city at a convention centre. Basically just hundreds of chairs and a few dozen portable stations that nurses wheel around. Anyway, while my wife and I were getting our shots, the nurse accessed my wife's records and noticed she'd had a mixed-dose schedule (first Pfizer, second Moderna). She said my wife should get the third shot (Moderna) so that she has two of the same, which is required by some countries for entry. My wife mentioned she didn't want to take advantage of a "booster" out of order, and we had no intention of traveling. The nurse leaned and said something like "I don't care, and no one else in healthcare does. If you can get a third shot, take it, it reduces the chance of spread and helps us all." So that convinced my wife, and she's getting a third shot now (which I am happy about). My province is also starting boosters on Monday for everyone over 65 (as well as immunocompromised, etc). I expect they will lower the age requirement over a period of months. Effectively, provinces in Canada are now just doing whatever they want. Health Canada last year kind of said "we provide guidelines on what we think is safe, but legally each province can do what it wants, approve whatever it wants." It was in result to some places being hesitant to allow younger people to get AstraZeneca shots after the blood clotting risk came out. But now they are using it do bend the rules to get more people vaccinated (and as fully protected as possible). So that means third doses, or second doses (but third in total) of the type you got second, etc. In my province they are even allowing 11-year-olds to get shots as long as they turn 12 in the calendar year. Overall I am happy with that.
  5. At this point countries should just nationalize/make generic the patent and let anyone make it.
  6. Quick-thinking hikers turn their turbans into a rope to save two men from water WWW.NEWSWEEK.COM "In Sikhi, we are taught to help someone in any way we can with anything we have, even our turban," one of the rescuers said. Pretty awesome.
  7. Charge all those people under whatever Samaritan law you can (yeah, yeah, I know that's not how those laws work, despite Seinfeld). I get not directly intervening...PERHAPS (depending on circumstances, especially if it's 1:1)...but not even calling 911? Fuck those people.
  8. I mean at this point aren't they receiving donations from GOP sources?
  9. Look, the US is a failed state. The sooner Americans accept this, the sooner the break up can begin and some people in good states (i.e. urban and coastal) can have better lives. The rest of the former US can then continue to spiral into the new world version of eastern Europe.
  10. I wish the same effort had been put into Foundation (in terms of doing the original ideas justice, not just throwing money at it for production values). You need people at the helm that understand the original work...not David S. Goyer.
  11. Lol. The woman asked under what authority could the Parliament make rules about coming into Parliament (needing to be vaccinated):
  12. Yeah a McDonalds location in a small city near me closed indoor dining last week after the new vax passport requirement came into effect. Bunch of doofuses.

  14. FDA proposes over-the-counter hearing aids for Americans WWW.REUTERS.COM The U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Tuesday proposed creation of a new category of over-the-counter (OTC) hearing aids to be sold directly to the millions of Americans in need of the devices, without expert assistance.
  15. Personally I am willing to wait until kids get a chance to get vaccinated. It's likely that 50-70% (or maybe even more) of kids will be vaccinated by the end of this year, which is fantastic. By that point, spread should be slowed significantly outside the unvaxxed idiot population, and the amount of unvaxxed idiots catching it and being hospitalized should be low enough to not be a concern for the healthcare system (except maybe in dumb provinces like mine, fully of white hicks).
  16. To me, I think some people are just stupid (as this thread shows in some cases). There are a few common reasons I see people oppose getting the vaccine that I will point out as being incredibly stupid: It doesn't work perfectly Yeah neither does chemo, or lung transplants, or advil. But they all work well, as do the vaccines They said I only needed two shots, but now I might need more. I refuse Because you are stupid. If getting two shots was fine, what is wrong with getting three or four (or even once a year for the rest of your life?). This attitude shows to me that you are a privileged asshole who has never had to take anything more than an advil in their life, or real with real, sustained hardship. Sometimes you have to do things forever until you die. That's the human condition
  17. Though I disagree with her on specific things, I think the fear from her is valid. She's a black woman on the internet (and this has been pointed out multiple times when people complain about her). Resetera is bad at some things, but one thing they did well was ensuring that the mod team was very diverse (I believe even majority non-white-male for most of the time). This is partly what led to so many great and diverse communities going there to flourish in the first place.
  18. I've really been enjoying this. The card system really provides some great opportunities for specific builds, especially in longer play sessions.
