Find someone who has one already in the US for sale or look to someone who is doing a bulk import of units from japan (this happens less frequently). Either way expect to pay $500 - $1000+ for one. Best to hang around groups on facebook or hit up an arcade centrick site like ArcadeOtaku or KLOV. I got mine back in 2000 from a guy off ebay who had a small arcade in SoCal and was selling off units he was bring over from japan. I think I paid around 400ish for mine and went to pick it up in person.

While FB is BS this is kind of needed. They're starting to prepare for when they might start being liable for what is posted and they surface to others. Just ignore them is the best option. Nice. Japanese cabinets are much better put together then US cabs were. So as long as the units in good shape there isn't much to really tinker with unless changing the control panel or recapping the monitor. I personally known my cab needs a lot of work because it's yellowed in my storage locker and the CRT is in need of a good recapping.

Uhhh Sony has stated all PS4 games work. They clarified their messaging that they only ran test on biggest hits but not the whole library when they mention only select titles running. Heck PS4 mode is baked into the hw design. You guys need to read more.

Eh... We tend to get a starting list out of E3 with a final list showing up at Gamescom. As well trade shows being pushed back from when they normally happen.

I know this sounds crazy to say months out from launch but it's a bit too early to call this the worse launch when we don't really know what the launch lineup for both systems are. Sure we at least have some hints for PS5 but not the final list. I think people sometimes forget how bad some previous launches have been.

Launch window is with in 4-6 months of launch but I could see this being a Feb/Mar release.

Consoles tend to rely on old tech and haven't really been cutting edge for a while. PS5 isn't pulling anything new out of thin air that wasn't already somewhat around in the PC space for a while. It's just putting it together in a cost effective bundle that will allow devs to target exploiting every inch of it and not just 60% for the sake of compatibility and OS overhead. As for other shit said, All system launches come in hot. Even the fucking DS was that way. Covid had some affect in launch production in terms of resource/part prep but not unit manufacturing as that tends to kick in later. Covid did affect software the most and we're seeing that impact as devs learn to adjust.

No they didn't come out in the west sadly. I own the DSi LE they released in japan that includes the game. There is a fan english patch out there as well.

This tweet was horse shit. He went on the store the day of release before the store update kicked in, was pissed he wasn't in the featured section of new releases and plain skipped over going to all new releases where his game was listed at the top. He also knew he was going to be listed/featured on playstation blog but didn't mention that in his rant about discoverability. Sure the search sucks but that is an issue of indexing which takes up to 12h-24h to fully kick in. If you search now you'll find it near the top. Now before you say it should already be indexed, Beloved Apple has the same fucking issue (*). Sony manages their own servers and for security reasons dev/test PSN is fully separated from public PSN and games are not pushed to Public PSN till the day before and has to get instanced across their server network which are distributed in many locations. (*) In apples case if you push a new app for app store review and it gets approved. Once you push it to be listed on the store it takes 1-3 days before it properly shows up in search. Your app could be composed of 5 words and even if you type out 4 of those words and nobody else has anything remotely close you still might not find your app until the type is an exact match and even then you still won't be the first item on the list.
