After almost a decade, humans will lift off from American soil into space on May 27th

This will be the manned test flight of the SpaceX Dragon 2 capsule - carrying two astronauts to the ISS.  The last manned spaceflight from US soil was STS-135, the very last shuttle mission in 2011.  America has been completely reliant on the Russians to get to/from the ISS since the retirement of the shuttle.

Au contraire, are we forgetting the brave Mad Mike Hughes that lifted off in his steam powered rocket in February to slip the surly bonds of earth and prove once and for all the Earth is flat?*

I don't know if the astronauts are being strictly quarantined before their launch next month, however I do believe they are limiting access to the two crew members until then, and taking other precautions.
