I’ve heard good things about this show off and on over the past couple years but never got around to watching it until a couple weeks ago. The first season is “okay”, kind of a generic “modern sitcom” set-up... until the last couple of episodes. I’m not going to spoil anything, but to put it as an analogy: the entire first season is like a set-up to a punchline. S2 and S3 are absolutely incredible, with S4 being a very close runner-up. I’m pretty surprised that I didn’t see any threads on this show when I tried searching. Do yourself a favor and give it a shot - each season is only 13 episodes. TheLeon Posted February 5, 2020 Share Posted February 5, 2020 I screwed up and didn’t realize that the final season had started until the first few episodes weren’t available for streaming, so now I have to wait until the whole season is dumped on Netflix. Read this after you watch the finale: Spoiler To reiterate, the creators def seemed to have a plan, BUT, the 10-12th ep of S4 definitely seemed stretched out, almost like their plan only took 10-11 eps and they went “shirt” and needed to stretch it by a couple eps to fill the quota. That’s why I ranked S4 lower than the previous 2 seasons. Also, I felt a little sad for Janet at the end, even though she explained how she “doesn’t really live in a specific moment in time, but all throughout it so she’ll always be with everyone”. Slug Posted February 5, 2020 Share Posted February 5, 2020 Possibly my favorite comedy series of the last decade. Just so well written and satisfying. I can't recommend it enough.
