The husband of former first minister Nicola Sturgeon has been arrested in connection with an investigation into Scottish National Party finances.

Peter Murrell, 58, is being questioned after being taken into police custody on Wednesday morning.

Police Scotland said officers were carrying out searches at a number of addresses as part of the investigation.

Mr Murrell resigned as the party's chief executive last month, a post he had held since 1999.

He has been married to Ms Sturgeon since 2010.

I suppose we now have an idea of why she resigned as SNP leader last month.

WOW

This is incredibly surprising. I don't know if any Scottish people were aware of any sort of corruption suspicion there, but what a story!

From what I read in the thread for this story on ResetERA, there were definitely some rumblings prior to Sturgeon's abrupt resignation.

YOU SEEING THIS YOU FUCKING STUPID MAGA AMERICAN IDIOTS!!!

*like they would really read former foreign leader news like this, because she’s a woman and “Trump isn’t the former president yet”. This would  probably make them even more mad about Hilary for some reason.

What?

this has nothing to do with Trump, the GOP, or America, why would you try to link them?

Well, it involves a corrupt political figure actually getting arrested and facing consequences for said corruption. I think that’s what he was getting at.
