Commissar SFLUFAN
Nicola Sturgeon's husband Peter Murrell arrested in SNP finance probe WWW.BBC.COM Peter Murrell was taken into police custody as officers searched his home and the SNP's headquarters. Quote The husband of former first minister Nicola Sturgeon has been arrested in connection with an investigation into Scottish National Party finances. Peter Murrell, 58, is being questioned after being taken into police custody on Wednesday morning. Police Scotland said officers were carrying out searches at a number of addresses as part of the investigation. Mr Murrell resigned as the party's chief executive last month, a post he had held since 1999. He has been married to Ms Sturgeon since 2010. I suppose we now have an idea of why she resigned as SNP leader last month.

Chairslinger
Seeing other countries actually hold their leaders to account our "exceptionlism" in that arena is starting to look about as impressive as our educational and healthcare systems. CayceG
WOW This is incredibly surprising. I don't know if any Scottish people were aware of any sort of corruption suspicion there, but what a story!

From what I read in the thread for this story on ResetERA, there were definitely some rumblings prior to Sturgeon's abrupt resignation. Jason
From February: Quote Ms Sturgeon insisted her resignation was not in response to the "latest period of pressure", which has included controversies over gender reforms, trans prisoners and the strategy on independence. Well, she clearly wasn't lying about any of that!

Well, it involves a corrupt political figure actually getting arrested and facing consequences for said corruption. I think that’s what he was getting at.
