Nintendo says it's because they don't know how to improve upon GX or what they would add to differentiate it. That game came out nearly twenty years ago, so they're just being a very Nintendo brand of crazy. They could make it an RPG, focus it on track creation, focus on vehicle creation. Yeah, there are very good Bluetooth 6 button Genesis clones or there for like $30, including 8bitdo's that will also work on the Switch. So of course it will sell out at the start but be in low demand after that. If anybody wants an actual genesis controller for their switch, buy this one.
