Test Drive Unlimited

I'll give Test Drive Unlimited some credit; They were Forza Horizon before Forza Horizon. The problem was the game was buggy as shit and it ran like ass on consoles. Then Test Drive Unlimited 2 came out and it too was buggy as shit and ran better, but still kinda like ass on consoles. I liked the idea of TU and TU2, but then Forza Horizon took their formula and have knocked out four bangers in the time since TDU2 and will have a fifth by the time TDU3 comes out next year.

They got a big act to follow and their gonna have to really bring it cuz FH done spoiled me.

Also this is gonna be like sloppy seconds for all those people that wanted FH5 to be in Japan.

One good thing is that i get to play this on PS5 and I'm not sure when I'll be able to get XSX to play FH5.

I'm assuming you mean this one:

Still have my original copy on PC. Loved it back in the day, but I feel I'd be more willing to go back to MW 2012. Personally, I hated the "storyline" elements of 2005 Most Wanted, and much preferred the "do-as-you-wish" approach to Most Wanted, plus also discovering cars as you saw fit. It blended a lot of what I liked with Burnout Paradise, and modified it for NFS.

This might be a bit of a hot-take, but NFS: MW 2012 is better overall than MW 2005.

NFS: Most Wanted really was the first good open world racing game, IMHO.

They're going to have to do a lot to get me off FH5.

Was Most Wanted an online open world game like TDU or Horizon? I remember beating the single player portion of that game but don't recall what the online was like.

I thought so?  Maybe I’m confused.

I guess it wasn't.

Fom Wikipedia:

Multiplayer in Most Wanted consists of online modes, which were available for the Xbox 360, Xbox, PC and PlayStation Portable editions of the game. Up to 4 players can participate in an online race and can race in 4 game modes including circuit, sprint, lap knockout and speed trap.

Maybe you're confusing it with TDU :p or Most Wanted 2012

I remember enjoying the hell out of TDU back in the day

It was fun. I like what they were going for. Being able to drive around Hawaii (i think?) at scale was a cool idea. That said, it was still buggy and had a shoddy framerate on Xbox 360.

TDU2 was better, and i liked the casino, but the network infrastructure just wasnt there yet for what they wanted to do, (and kinda like what FH is doing now.) I remember my friends and i wanting to play it, but Atari just never could manage to fix the broken net code.

I don't think it was. I remember it was more like a very linear game where you go race to race.
