Solid advice. The amount of good you can do yourself by eating well, drinking lots and taking care of your physical and mental health is silly.
  2. Tiring. It was attempting to fix electrical goods over the phone and then failing that, advise the repair pathway. 8 hours a day of that was enough for me!
  3. Now there are some games to lock yourself away for a week and just live vicariously through.
  4. I remember when I used to work on a customer facing phone line - it was shattering. I was lucky that I was picked up to move to a different role temporarily and then permanently after about 6 months of me so, helping new starters within the company get to grips with everything, give them coaching and mainly ensure they didn’t quit in less than 90 days.
  5. To bump my own thread, one week of work then it’s our Easter holidays, another perk of teaching. Downside is I have about 3 hours of work that needs getting ready for tomorrow and I need to take my daughter out for the day and then help clean as we’re having photos of our house taken by an estate agent on Monday. Late one tonight it is then.
  6. It’s a British programme, so either you’d need to watch it on iPlayer pr maybe BritBox? Either way, it saddens me that The Great British Bake Off made it to the US, when this is infinitely better.
  7. The Great British Menu - about 15 years on, still the best cooking programme on television.
  8. You did an amazing thing and have every right to feel as sad as you want, for as long as you want.
  9. Mine comes through the letter box so there’s literally no way of ignoring it.
  10. Did the Eldin Volcano silent realm first time. I’m still enjoying Skyward Sword and I’m definitely glad I’ve come back to it again.
  11. I didn’t feel that was trying to one-up a story, just something else vaguely illegal. If another member had told that story we’d just be talking about it as another anecdote…
  12. To add to the woe - I’ve completely lost my sense of taste and smell. Great for changing my daughter this morning, but ruins a lot of things I enjoy (like tasting and smelling things…)
  13. You were lucky? Had a less severe strain? Aren’t clinically vulnerable? Have a good immune system? I’m not an immunologist so I couldn’t really tell you I’m afraid.
  14. I tested positive for Covid with a PCR (and an LFT every day to see when I can get back to work), but it feels like having a cold, at least for (vaccinated, non-vulnerable) me.
  15. Instead of being really sick I had cold-like symptoms for 2 days. Compare that too: hacking cough, fever, headache, loss of taste and smell…I’m glad I’ve had my 2 vaccines and one booster,
  16. I’ve played a bit of Skyward Sword HD. Unfortunately, it’s in a faffy bit where I’ve had to collect some spirit things, then get another thing, to go through an area to find a dragon, to be told to get another thing. None of it has been overly fun either. At least it all leads to some quality dungeon action. Update: completed the ancient cistern - have to say the boss was a walkover using ‘normal’ controls. Now back to some more faff. Also played a bit of RE3, Nemesis appeared, I died - I’ll come back to it. It’s definitely a game that would benefit from being completed in one go - if only to remember how to get about the map quickly. A few days off and I’ll be damned if I know how to get to the Subway Office.
  17. Did a day of teaching online - it could have been worse. Half day tomorrow then some planning time in the afternoon. Really hope I test negative come Sunday.
  18. On this topic, I remember actively not playing my PS1 because it used to take forever to actually play a game, with the endless splash screens and old screens. OoT however was quick N64 screen, title screen, a few presses and then you’re in.
  19. I mean, there’s lots to choose, I’d go with not having an HDMI input for the Wii because, why not.
  20. Nah mate ima top geezer not some soppy prick Sure I’ll be fine.
  21. So far, it feels like a cold with a bit of a cough added in. If I hadn’t tested positive- I’d be working as normal.
  22. Just tested positive for Covid-19. Sad as it puts a huge amount of pressure on the people I work with and I’m worried about giving it to my family. Plus side, I’ll be working from home for the next week or so (unless I feel horrendous) and I can teach my class from home.
