Television The Last Kingdom is getting a feature film
Mercury33 replied to Emblazon's topic in The Performing Arts Centre
Lol relax -
I wonder if the first season will be more from Moraine’s perspective. Could be a smart change from the books since the show would feature its biggest name more prominently and you can drag out the secret of who the Dragon Reborn is still closer to the end of the season. Since in the book it’s pretty obvious who it is by chapter 2/3.

IMDB does list a Dune tv show under Villanueva’s upcoming projects. Of course anything on that site comes with a grain of salt because it’s user generated. But still. There’s a TON of lore to explore from those novels and if Foundation is doing well for Apple maybe HBO will want it’s own space show(I’m not starting up the Dune genre debate again haha). So a number 1 opening, WB’s best opening alongside HBO, Villanueva’s best opening, and I think I read it’s doing well overseas? Gotta be safe to assume Part 2 gets the go ahead at this point right?

Television The Last Kingdom is getting a feature film

What is this supposed to mean? The 5th season was green lit and production is finished. So The Last Kingdom adaption will have 5 seasons and a movie. How is anyone wrong in stating that? -

At this point I’ve come full circle on Bay. I’m psyched for this lol -
For everyone that hasn’t read the books. In regards to the ending. My wife didn’t read the book and was completely satisfied with the ending and didn’t think it ended abruptly or in a bad spot. It absolutely needs its part 2 but in terms in the technician craft of how and when to close out a movie, it ends well. Personally I was expecting an ending like the finale of the Sopranos where it was going to be really sudden and leave you with “wait wtf, that’s it???” And it doesn’t do that.

So im tired and don’t wanna write three paragraphs tonight. But that was absolutely incredible. An absolutely brilliant adaption. I couldn’t believe that while I was sitting there watching the movie, it was envoking that exact same vibes and tone and emotions that I get from reading the book. Not just that you get sad at the same part or angry at the same part. But he managed to recreate the actual tone of the book. At least in my experiences reading it. It looks incredible. I saw it in an RPX theater that has the subwoofers in the seats and HOLY SHIT was that worth the extra money. The score and music are fantastic. As for the ending. I’ll say it def ends in a place where if you didn’t know there was a part 2 you’d think “uhhh what the fuck?” But it also didn’t just end suddenly and out of nowhere. They place they stopped is almost exactly where I thought they would. And I do think there’s an aspect to Paul’s story that does finish a single movie arc. I’m honestly not sure how he could have ended it any better. I pray to god this does well and they let him finish it as it would be an absolute crime to finish this piece of art. Can’t wait to watch it again at home tomorrow. Annnnd I wrote 3 paragraphs anyway.

Television Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 12 Trailer

Well now hold on a second. Given your recent views we need to narrow this down. Do you need an actual comedy? Or do you need a full blown drama? Because you 1000% didn’t just finish two actual comedies. -

And Outlander and Ash v Evil Dead -
Except he’s literally exactly a younger Sully. He’s perfect for this. I mean I guess if you coulda got Affleck to do it 🤷🏻♂️ And this is the similar weird logic like “the Last of Us shouldn’t be about Joel and Ellie” Lol it cracks me up. Resident Evil and Prince of Persia get criticized for not resembling the games at all. Then Last of Us and Uncharted get criticized for looking like the games. Lol we all really need to make up our minds with what we want from Video Game Movies.

Agreed. I haven’t read the books but the show has been really fantastic so far. From what I understand Empire isn’t really featured as heavily in the main books? They show up more in the prequels? So if all the stuff with empire is different and has been added to the show, Bra-fucking-vo!!! Cause that shit is incredible.

That’s a great article. The passion is certainly there. I dunno how many people here follow them on Twitter but they’ve released a bunch of small clips and it looks utterly fantastic so far. I think aiming to be a cultural phenomenon like GoT is an insane goal, I think at the very least this show is going to be very good.

Well played sir. Well played. -
And it’s also telling you didn’t bother to read fully through mine. I said the show uses arcs that’s are simultaneously built for both comedy and drama. There are also scenes that are built exclusively for humor. There’s no arcing story to them but they exist as standalone scenes. But you seem to think a show needs arcs built only for comedy to define it as a comedy. So next season there should be a running gag about Ted shitting his pants to requalify as comedy? What genre do you put Schitts Creek in?
