On one hand i really dislike the ps5 design. Looks like wit the curved sides you can’t lay it flat at all. On the other hand, since the series x seems to prefer vertical as well, i might be able to remove a shelf in my tv console and just stand both next to each other.

I mean....most streaming services come with a few profiles or you could give someone you trust access to your account. And with movies anywhere you automatically get a copy across every linked service. back when DVD was the rage, I amassed a ridiculous collection. I’m lucky if i could get .25-.50 each for em now. Never again. i found a message board where people sell the 4K digital codes from their physical copy. I usually pay 6-10 for a new release. YES, physical looks slightly better but not at 3x the cost.

BF5 is dead and Im glad they are moving on. Even though I played it for damn near 400hrs it was a train wreck compared to 3/4/1. With how well COD: MW19 is doing, its no surprise DICE is jumping on a remaster of a modern shooter. I wouldnt mind a remaster of BF3 if it had the cinematics of 1 and the gameplay of 5 and the battle pass, season of COD MW19. Id prefer a new game, but Im fine with this as well.

I’m having a really hard time finishing FF7R. It’s so linear and lifeless to me. outer worlds I’ve picked up and put down several times. It’s OK. It actually can be fun...but i dunno. Just didn’t hook me. I agree with @Chris- luigis mansion 3 is boring. I was hoping for me. I decided to put it down and I’m going to try again next October when I’m in the Halloween mood again.

12hrs in now and made it through the ether mine and on my way to Satori Marsh. I’m really enjoying this game! I’m glad I caved and decided to buy. Even though the landscapes are vast and there’s not a ton to do in them, there’s something really cool about climbing around the body of a titan oh yeah and the music is great.

Got it. So are areas meant to be visited more than once? Like will I be gong back to those caves for any reason except maybe to hunt those monsters once i level up more?

So i put in some time yesterday. I’m maybe 3.5-4hrs in. Finished Tephra Cave and little more. I definitely get the MMO vibe every talks about, but that’s OK. I don’t mind it. I’m really enjoying the combat, but man...I got my ass kicked on a few things in the cave that i eventually just avoided them. The big caterpillar and I forget what it was called, but it was after you hit the check point, Go up the stairs and through a door. To the right was monster that just keep destroying the party. And both monsters, I was above their level. I think I was 10 and they were 9. Kinda frustrating bc it wasn’t even close. The party died almost instantly every time. as for sidequests - I LOVE that you don’t actually have to return them to the issuer. That’s fantastic. I’ll just pick em up and if I complete them, great. if not, no big deal. im digging the story so far. Definitely interested to see where it goes. Hopefully it holds my attention being such a long game. I appreciate that there is actually voice acting. So many nintendo games skip on this. I like the constant loot drops and upgrades for the party. I hope that remains constant and I hope there’s some unique gear to hunt. overall, I’m really enjoying it. I hope it stays the course.

Ok I got an hour in yesterday. Made it to colony 9 and was immediately distracted with how many side quests popped up. I really truly don’t want to get sucked into the endless sidequest vortex and find I’m 10hrs in and barely did the main story. This almost always leads me to never “finishing” the game. With that said, i pretty much plan on skipping sidequests entirely. Unless of course anyone in here thinks I’m making a mistake or if there’s certain sidequests specifically I should do (bc good reward or story expansion). What say you.

Well I couldn’t resist picking it up. I’m spending more time outside these days and it’s nice to have a game to get into while poolside.

I played my switch almost exclusively handheld. Please post some more impressions when you get further in.

Is there a ton of grinding required in this game?

I was considering giving this game a try, but the back and forth here has convinced me otherwise. Maybe I’ll pick it up on sale in 6 years for $45.

Still some COD MW19. trying to pick up FF7R again but I’m just not finding it as good as I hoped. I think I’m on chapter 12 so well past the halfway point (i think) and i just feel like there hasn’t been a ton of story progression to keep my attention.

whats everyones playtime at that beat it? Im on chapter 9, didnt get to play much this weekend - but i just looked and i already have about 14 1/2hrs on the game clock.

I’m only on chapter 8 and I will say that this is probably the best chapter so far for feeling like it’s a world people actually live in.

im not finding the visuals not that amazing...esp considering the linearity of the game so far (chapter 8). I feel like the maps have a very sterile feeling to them. They just dont look like they've been occupied by people. Consider something like The Last of Us or Uncharted. You go inside a building/house and it feels like people have been there. These environments just feel empty and lifeless.

Nevermind. Got past it. On chapter 7 now.
