I wouldn’t say the mechanics are too similar to TOK, though TOK is closer than the other ones since, TTYD is essentially the game that people are mad that TOK isn’t. All the puzzle stuff from battles is gone in TTYD and it’s mechanically more like the Mario and Luigi games or the original paper mario.

I actually liked Starfield but he definitely isn’t getting that yes it’s not like their other games in a few important ways but also it was trying to be and marketed as being an extension of their other games so that is the problem but it’s a failure not a difference of opinion

It sounds like a cash in on nostalgia and not really that great of a new entry to me Also seems like the sorta thing that should have waited until a Switch 2 anyway. If you haven’t played Paper Mario TTYD especially, I mean that’s one of the best games ever. I’m about to dive back into my FO76 and Steller Blade time, awesome combo to be playing that came out of nowhere kinda for me. Love how gaming does that. Also playing crossy road tower on vision which ruleeees - I recommend that one for anyone with Apple Arcade

Beat the first major challenge boss! Definitely made me work for it and took me a few times but I got the job done. You really want to be doing a lot of active defense in this game. I just made it to the main city so I got my preorder/deluxe bonuses finally and now I look slightly less ridiculous and same with Lilly who has maybe even a worse starting outfit than Eve.

I like that defense is actually satisfying in this game. I find defense mechanics often to be not be as fun as offensive mechanics in games. But with good windows and a perfect parry with counters, slow motion perfect dodge and counters, the blink move where you move straight through them, and how well it all looks and animates, it makes for really enjoyable combat.

I’ve been just waiting for them to get their shit together at this point. I’m scared of losing progress until things are stable so it makes me not want to invest too much into it.

Yeah very curious if this is true! And yeah what that means for performance vs a regular M3 chip beyond AI. Kinda crazy that M3 just launched in November though that we would already see M4. But I guess when your chip releases are on yearly cycles it’s not that crazy. Kinda makes the naming of everything a little more confusing to customers gauging power levels though along with the very different specs of max/pro/ultra versions and even amongst a 512gb pro vs 1tb pro. That said fuck yeah M4 bring it on! Hopefully we finally see this thing in just about a week.

In alll about that FO76 babbbyyyyyy. I guess this will be my first mmo since TOR like 10 years ago. Though I have played a decent bit now and still have yet to engage with any online elements beyond simply seeing other people running around. I’ll have more thoughts later but reminder a Steam key is still only $8 on cdkeys and all expansions are free so that’s all you need! Runs great on the deck native or on a desktop app all modded out. The world here is going to be 5x the size of FO4 after the summer update not including how it now also has Pittsburg and NJ. There’s a lottt of content. There’s pluses and minuses due to the nature of what it is vs FO4 that I’ll get more into later but anyone who liked that entry would probably like this now. And you really can just play it exactly like a single player FO game. The other stuff is totally optional. And nobody can kill you if you don’t want them to be able to. I’m playing this just as if it was FO5. No need to subscribe to anything or pay for expansions. It’s all cosmetic stuff and base building stuff. I actually wish FO 1st offered more because I’d like to get like super into it with the sub but all the good stuff is free!
