If you’re not getting weird sounds or graphical artifacts, I believe this is likely the case. However, worth noting that doesn’t mean a PS5 cannot be bricked from these software issues (see the “repairing external storage” issue), but at least the issues leading to that worst case scenario should be fixable. -

I think that game is the exception and not the rule. There’s almost no difference between something like an OC’d 2700k vs a 10900k in most games at 4k (or 1440p ultrawide). I gained exactly 0fps on gaming going from a 3700k to a 5960x

Supposedly dropping cascading shadows to low gives a huge performance boost, and if you’re using RTX shadows there’s almost no visual impact. I haven’t tried this yet, but my friend with a 3070 told me it gave him a 30%+ boost. I also heard dropping volumetric fog to high from ultra gives a big boost with little visual difference.

Oh, yea, that game looked good too - the 20fps gameplay footage was bothersome, but it could definitely be great once they optimize it

I’m surprised we didn’t get a Fable trailer considering it was one of the big announcements at last year’s show. Anyone else a little disappointed by the announcements? I felt like the only notable thing was a new Perfect Dark, but maybe I missed something? I mean, we all more-or-less knew that a new Dragon Age would be coming this gen, and ME was also kinda a given, IMO.

Someone at the gym this morning was saying “the COVID numbers are fake, right?”, asking them what they are talking about led to “I mean, they’re just testing more now then they were a couple months back, that’s why the numbers are up, right?” (I love how they kept adding “right?” at the end to make it seem as if they’re just asking questions), I finally replied: ...So... because they weren’t testing as much, the previous numbers from the other months were underestimated... meaning the low numbers were inaccurate and the current numbers are real then?”. They had no actual response to this, just confusion.

I think your console has COVID. Pour some hydroxychloroquine into it and it should be good to go. The back up option would be to airlift it to Walter Reed so taxpayers can chuck $100k+ at it. Both plans are equally viable.

Yup, you’re correct that performance DLSS will have some notable aliasing at 1440p, which is why I mentioned it for 4k specifically.

Try putting DLSS to performance instead of auto. There’s no real noticeable loss in quality with DLSS levels at 4k except for ultra-performance.

Just got my physical PC copy from Amazon. Going physical was really worth it for once, not even taking into account the $10-off The code comes on an actual card, the same size and weight of an AmEx black card, you get a page of stickers, ads for clothing, a thank you from CDPR with mention of free DLC, two music CDs for the games album, a stack of post cards (bottom right), a huge (HUGE) folded map (bottom center), and a world compendium.
