  1. My initial reaction to this question was, "SNES of course". Then I thought about it and changed my mind. I'm going with the N64. While my favorite game of all time is on the NES and the SNES basically owned my childhood, when I really think back I have more great memories of gaming on the 64 than any other console. Such amazingly fun times. I mean...Mario 64, Ocarina and Majora's Mask, and Starfox 64. GoldenEye. Playing Banjo-Kazooie and Perfect Dark with my wife. Mario Party before Mario Party sucked. Beer and game nights with my friends talking shit over Kart 64 and Smash Bros. Beetle Adventure Racing. Letting my toddler son hold an unplugged controller while I played Paper Mario. It goes on. I can think of amazing games for every system, but I can't think of a console that I have so many amazing gaming memories of.
  2. Haha, I had to give up League. The community was so bad. But yeah, I'm bad at League too.
  3. Damn, man. I was looking forward to being really bad at it with ya.
  4. Right now the only true minis game (as opposed to board games that happen to use minis) is Blood Bowl. Frigging love me some Blood Bowl. Team Chaos all day!
  5. Since the thread with all our Fortnite and Epic Games names has gone the way of all threads () I don't remember all of my fellow D1P Battlers to add. With the introduction of Friend Links, I figure this would be a good time to get everyone synched up and playing together again. So post your Friend Links! Fortnite Friend Link: https://fortnite.com/friend/Slug_DC Note to console-only players - When you accept the friend invite you'll have to create an Epic Games account which you can then link to your PSN/XBL/Nintendo ID so that you can play with us PC players. 6. I haven't finished it yet (about 3/4 I'm guessing based on the story pacing), but I'd be down.
  7. Oh, also the Dark Souls board game. I bought it and have only played once in the year since I've owned it.
  8. I don't drink if I'm on call. Plus if I'm supposed to be on call during an event like a skins game, I'll plan ahead and have another engineer on my team cover me or trade on call days or something. If I can't get it covered then I don't go to the event.
  9. Wait, so I can play 40k but not have to spend $800 on minis to start a competitive army? This, I can get behind.
  10. I'm an intercept engineer. I put in probably 50-55'ish hours per week in a regular work week, plus my team rotates on-call duty which can push it to 60-70 in some cases (on call is 24/7 availability; if the phone rings I drop everything and do what needs doin').
  11. I don't. I work too much. I'm probably sub-50 hours in "free" time and most of that is spent meeting non-work obligations (cleaning, fixing, errands, landlordly bullshit, etc.). Probably 10-15 hours a week doing stuff I actually want to do.
  12. Hey! A dictator can still take input and be a dictator! :P
  13. This is why you'd be a good dictator; you'd still listen to your people.
  14. I see what you're getting at. It just rubs me wrong somehow. I'd assume the program would be tax-funded. The thought that I could be paying for a public benefit that I don't get to make use of because my kid is a D student or something just doesn't sit well in my head. It'd be like denying someone that free health care because they don't go to the gym and love tacos a little too much. What I was thinking was that each tax-paying, established resident and qualifying dependent gets X years from initial college enrollment (to cover folks who maybe don't want to or can't go to college immediately out of high school) to earn their degree, academic performance during that period not being a factor. Any education beyond that (whether they fail to earn their degree in the covered time or desire to continue into higher level programs) they would have to pay for themselves or secure private funding.
  15. I'm on board. ¡Viva Leyenda! I think the only thing I'd adjust on your list is not making the paid college merit based. If someone has been resident in and paying taxes to a state for some determined period of time that should translate into X number of years of state college credit each for them and their dependents.

To be fair, the expanded acronym now contains 34% of the alphabet already. :P
  17. I would destroy you at Dominion. By Destroy you I mean, "probably lose to you, but competently". But I'd play! Great game.
  18. o/~ Memories.... I had to give up on MMOs because Everquest. I can't be trusted with MMOs. I burned soooo much time, it wasn't healthy. 11 years on Norrath. Raid offtank Shadowknight in EQ and EQ2. Good times though.
  19. I don't get how people can be this fucking gone. Christ.
  20. This is a tough one. I have so many games that I don't get to play because our game group goes on runs where we play one game for long stretches. Cthulhu Wars is one I wish I could get to the table more often. Really fun and plays completely different depending on which great old one you choose, so your strategy can completely flip on a game-by-game basis. Cyclades is another fun one that I wish I could get to play more often.
  21. I've played Gloom. It's a fun one. Great humor in the writing. And so many expansions. Good times.
  22. My only complaint so far is that "swing mode" is its own mode. I wanna use swing controls for everything.
